Obnoxiously Articulate

Filed in National by on October 15, 2009

Is it even possible to be obnoxiously articulate?  My guess is that only obnoxiously inarticulate people would think say so.

Obama has been a constant presence in the mass media as he expands the bureaucracy’s reach into the private sector…. In doing so, he has created a quandary. Put aside for a moment the question of whether government is actually intruding into people’s lives more than before. The point is that many people feel like it is — in part because Obama doesn’t stop talking about his goals. If President George W. Bush got slapped around for being inarticulate, is Obama obnoxiously articulate?

Keep in mind that this AP reporter gets paid to write this stuff.  I mean, how dare a President talk about his policies.

BTW, can someone define/describe obnoxiously articulate?

Claiming Dennis Miller was ever funny? 😛

P – Taking a guess at it and not casting criticism, I am thinking it has to deal with being so incredibly detailed and repetitive (over varying appearances) on topics, that it becomes obnoxious. Remember that Bush’s dialogue tended to be all over the place, many times; whereas Obama’s tends to have clarity and detail, but it tends to get drilled in, rather than touch-and-go.

This is some of the incredibly stupid media navel-gazing that I can’t imagine helps their credibility. Why is this news — other than someone needed something to publish. If he wasn’t available and talking about his policies these same media geniuses would be bitching about how inaccessible and controlled this White House is.

But it is true that the Dems just lack in good, solid surrogates. And I don’t think that they do much to groom them or to help them get to rolodexes. When BushCo was trotting out their next atrocity, they were everywhere and they all had the same thing to say. That kind of messaging isn’t as ubiquitous among Dems.

But, damn, is this a lazy piece of writing.

How low does your opinion of America have to be to believe that being articulate is a political liability?
