Late Night Video — POX News

Filed in National by on November 6, 2009

The beloved children’s TV show, Sesame Street has its 40th Anniversary this month and they have been rerunning episodes and skits to celebrate that event.  After this piece aired, wingnuts got their whine on,complaining that PBS was specifically trying to brainwash the kids:

Now these wingnuts have just discovered this piece, even though it is two years old or so.  And does anyone else wonder how they could start whinging over POX News, but not GNN?  A fair look at this skit shows that Sesame Street is is tweaking cable news competition more than anything and only the grownups in the room would even get the play on networks.  And I wonder if there was any pushback from these nuts when FOX Noise decided that Mr. Rogers was evil.

With all that is wrong in the world, we not have conservatives whining that even Seasme Street doesn’t meet with their remarkably bitter and small world view.

  1. The worst thing is that the PBS ombudsman said they shouldn’t have run the skit. Yes, conservatives get very defensive when anyone dares to suggest that Fox News is anything other than fair and balanced.

    Bit of a stretch, no?

  3. Suzanne says:

Fox News fair and balanced – I always giggle when I hear or read that.
The people that complained about this are probably the same ones that have to look at every Disney movie over and over just to find the face of Satan or anything sexual somewhere in it.
