Monday Night Quick Hits

Back in the heady days of the Blogosphere, there came the invention of the Google Bomb. I am not sure the logistics or algorithms involved, but the more you typed in a key phrase along with a link to a legitimate website, the more that site would be the top result for a Google search for that phrase. For example, “Worst President Ever” was tagged with www.georgewbush.com. So with that in mind, I wonder if something similar to a Google Bomb is responsible for this:

Speaking of our patron saint of comedy, Sarah Palin hints that she will run for President in 2012. There is a God.

There is an app for that. Yes, Daily Kos is now available through an iPhone application. Indeed, my apps on my iPhone have exploded recently, mostly due to being bored while watching 2012 at the Vice President’s favorite theater, Regal Brandywine. Speaking of 2012, it sucked. I used to be wowed by end of the world movies, but after seeing three real life disasters unfold before our very eyes as if they were straight from Hollywood (9/11, Tsunami, Katrina), I guess it is just not cool anymore, no matter how spectacular the special effects.

Jeff Zeigler on Sarah Palin’s tome de lies:

“For many reasons, this is by far the best book and greatest literary achievement by a political figure in my lifetime. I strongly believe that if every Republican primary voter reads this book, Sarah Palin will win the 2012 nomination in a landslide, whether she wants it or not.

There was no snark tag, so I have to assume that Jeff was being serious here. And if that is the case, whoa boy. For that to be true, either Jeff doesn’t read anything but Dr. Seuss books (which, by the way, outshine Palin’s book in both substance and illustration) or his definition of political figures is so narrow as to only include political figures from Alaska. But hey, I am with him on his second point.
