More on The War on Christmas Party

Filed in Delaware by on December 11, 2009

Over the past week, I have told several people about our War on Christmas party.  I have been very surprised that I had to explain it to many people.  Apparently, it is somewhat of an inside joke on the Internet.  I guess it is good that most people haven’t been tricked into this whole War on Christmas brouhaha.

Our War on Christmas party is next Friday night (12/18) at CW Harborside at 7PM.  We would like to ask everyone to bring some canned goods to the party to support the Food Bank of Delaware.  I will deliver all of the donations on the 21st to help some people have a good meal during the holidays.  Last January, we hosted a volunteer opportunity at the Food Bank, so if I may offer a suggestion, don’t bring Pumpkin Pie filling or cranberry sauce.  Both are donated in abundance.

I hope you can join us and give what you can to help out one of the best charities in the state.

LG, thanks for doing the delivery! Will CW Harborside reserve a parking place for you? Might make loading up (and Mr. Pandora and I will help with the loading) easier.

I am hoping that I need to park close. Either way, I could use the exercise… 🙂

Let’s make it a necessity for LG to park close! Everyone, please try and stop in next Friday – with canned goods! Even if you can’t stay for the duration, maybe you could join in the fun and help out those in need for a little bit. Oh, and bring a friend… or friends!

Wish I could be there…as for the “war” being for internet insiders…I’ve received two viral emails from family members this week — family members I hear from ONLY when they have something very “Catholic conservative” to send me — with war on Christmas material.

BECAUSE THEY AREN”T CALLED HOLIDAY TREES!!!!!!!! (Lord save me from teh stupidz)

  5. liberalgeek says:

I think they are called “Douglass Firs”

  6. Talk about silly PM. What, exactly, do trees have to do with the baby Jesus?

I’m definitely coming to the party. I’m going to pick up some canned goods this weekend. From my time volunteering at the Food Bank I would say things like mac & cheese, peanut butter, all types of beans, veggies would be best.

All I know is that this year Tom Carper put the “oh CHRIST!” in Christmas. So let us all remember that Christ lived and died so that Tom Carper could whore his office out to big Pharma. So it is written and so it shall be. Amen.

I am using my (still in beta-testing) Republican David to English translation device. It is saying that was a joke, but the needle is jumping all over the place.

damn right RD! i plan on committing SEVERAL mortal sins this holiday season.

You guys are a bit too far away for me to drive up there right now – but I will be patiently waiting for posts online reporting on the party!

    HAVE FUN!

It was fun, and Liberalgeek collected a whole car full, I mean full, of goods for the Food Bank. Thanks LG, great job.
