Cheney in Hospital….Again

Filed in National by on June 26, 2010 4 Comments

Former Vice President Dick Cheney was hospitalized yesterday afternoon after “experiencing discomfort,” according to the AP. Yo, Dick, that discomfort is called your conscience. It’s unknown is Cheney’s condition if related to his long history of heart issues (he was hospitalized in February for a fifth “mild” heart attack), but Cheney’s spokesman said the 69-year-old […]

Filed in National by on June 25, 2010 36 Comments

I’m back to blogging a little bit I guess. I’ve got my Obama REVEAL theory and my little podcast with Donviti. I’ve got a call out to Tom Kovach, maybe he’ll call me back – maybe not. Whatever. But the thing I’ve got most of all…the thing that matters…is that I’ve got this clear sense […]

Elliot Jacobson is out as Insurance Commissioner Karen Weldin Stewart’s Chief of Staff. He will apparently remain as a “special adviser” for a little while. His demotion seems to be the result of his June 17 announcement that Blue Cross Blue Shield will stop requiring doctors to obtain permission before performing nuclear stress tests.

A Video Dump

Filed in National by on June 24, 2010 1 Comment

I love crowd reaction shots of important moments at sporting events. And I love weather videos. And since it took me 3 hours to get out of Philadelphia this evening (it seriously looks like a tornado plowed through South Philadelphia, trees down everywhere, roads impassable, roofs blown off), I decided to post some reaction videos […]

General Assembly Update / Thursday June 24, 2010

Filed in National by on June 24, 2010 6 Comments

Our General Assembly Expert, El Somnabulo, got called away unexpectedly, so you all are stuck with me today. First and foremost, as reported in the comments to the Book Burning post, SB 293 was defeated in committee yesterday. The theocrats and fascists will have to move to Texas if they want to someone else to do the indoctrinating of their children. Although, Texas may have a Democratic governor next year, so there is always South Carolina. Next, Governor Markell has accepted defeat on another of his cost cutting ideas: reducing benefits for future state employees (not current ones).
