Republican congressional candidates Michele Rollins and Glen Urquhart will debate Aug. 31 on WDEL radio. Peter MacArthur will moderate the debate, which starts at 8 a.m. in Widener Law School’s Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom and will be broadcast live on WDEL (1150 AM) and streamed live on WDEL’s web site. The public is welcome to attend.
Anyone interested in a meet-up before/during/after the debate?
I hope WDEL will also record and podcast it, in addition to streaming live. 8 a.m. is a particularly lousy time to listen.
You can’t count on Delaware media to retain debates or candidate statements from one election to the next (the “Delaware Memory Hole”). That is part of their defensive perimeter around incumbents. If you want a copy, best record it yourself.
Maybe we can liberalgeek to go record the debate.
I can record it if it’s streaming (recording off the air is a bit more difficult, but not impossible). But it would be better if multiple people record it, in case of failures.
Do you expect either of these two to say anything worth hearing ?

Castle will never agree to debate O’Donnell. I’d be surprised if he could find time in his busy schedule to debate Coons.

So I just saw the Rollins TV ad for the first time last week. It’s awful! Her campaign consultants must not have the guts to tell her to lose the bangs. I mean, seriously, she looks SCARY. Talk about reinforcing the mean, nasty & harsh stereotype of the Republican Party. She looks like the crotchety old aunt whom nobody likes.
But between her and foot-long-neck Goofball Glen, I’d still think she’s going to win. And then lose to Still-Looks-Naked-Without-A-Moustache-Carney.
Why can’t we get a good-looking politician in Delaware? Really. Castle’s a giant elf, Carper has a chin that looks like a tumor, Markell has a horrid combover, Denn’s teeny-tiny, Joe has hairplugs … we need a movie star!!!!
