Something Mighty Stinky is a Brewing in the Castle/O’Donnell Primary Race

Filed in National by on August 22, 2010

O’Donnell’s goon squad looks to be loading up to unleash an ethics attack on Castle.

A few weeks back, this post detailing a corrupt group of GOP legislators, began popped up to the top of “Mike Castle” google searches.

And now, we have the rough outlines of “Mike Castle is a money grubbing ethics challenged scum-bag” theme trotted out here – and picked up for a slightly large audience here.

These are the buzz words to listen for over the next couple of weeks…

“Since Castle’s election to Congress in 1992, three of Castle’s top five contributors have been from the banking industry — MBNA Corp (acquired by Bank of America in 2006), Bank of America and Morgan Stanley. And 10 of his top 20 contributors were banking firms.”

I’m sure I speak for everyone here when I say that I hope O’Donnell’s attacks are vicious and effective.

  1. Go Christine go! How can we help?

  2. Geezer says:

I’m pretty sure everyone here realizes that banks being major funders of Congressional campaigns in Delaware is about as unsurprising as facts can get. Banks are the No. 1 industry in the state; those banks expect and, until the appointment of Ted Kaufman, received favorable treatment from the state’s Congressional delegation; and they repay the favors with campaign contributions. The banks take good care of Biden and Carper, too, and should Coons win, they’ll take good care of him.

On the other hand, it can’t hurt to have someone point out this set of facts. Maybe the masses will learn what they have to gain from publicly financed campaigns.

  3. Rebecca says:

    Well said, as usual, Geezer.

  4. jpconnorjr says:

Campaigns are not about facts, They are not about fairness. They are certainly not about reasoned debate. They are about Winning! If Crazy Chrissie the Kookette can draw a little blood before she returns to her assylum God bless her:)

  5. Geezer says:

JP: True, but it doesn’t mean we have to endorse it. If you really believe that, then never bitch when the crazies do it to our preferred candidates.

  6. jpconnorjr says:

i think it would be hilarious if one (only one) of them won. Also whether I endorse the behavior or not it will continue and sadly, expand.

  7. That sad part is that Coons will probably be courted by the banking industry too. That’s the point Coons and Castle are one-in-the-same, “money grubbing ethics challenged scum-bag.” It’s a engagement for Coons and a marriage for Castle.

With Christine looking for somebody — just anybody — to mark her dance card.

And help her pay her mortgage, apparently.

  9. ScupperJoe says:

So what kind of dance do you ladies need, exactly? I’ve got skillz

  10. ScupperJoe says:

Oh no. COD is right out. Sorry I didn’t read through. Blech!

  11. Aoine says:

today I witnessed the most incredible horrible behavior my the O’donnell folks
simply incredible – she will NEVER win with folks representing her that advocate allowing a person to remain untreated medically and die because they do not have legal status.

inhumane and immoral by any standard – so why where they at Festival Hispano?? in Millsboro putting sticker on Latino children?

thats ok – for every child they put a sticker on I told the parents in Spanish what she stands for and what her reps where advocating for..

the stickers where removed immediately by the parents and word was spread to stay away from her table…LOL

but thanks for the table fee>>>LOL

  12. jpconnorjr says:

Did she pay the fee up front and in cash? This reminds me of 1972. A neanderthal named Eugene Bookhammer from Sussex was running as an R for Lt. guv. There was an event at the old Howard high in wilmington which was still all black at the time, for candidates and an R was principle, Cliff Hearn the D, was blocked at the door and hundreds of black female students were wearing “Bookie” buttons. The point you ask?? Bookhammer had come out publicly and loudly for FORCED STERILIZATION and singled out minorities! Some things don’t change.

  13. Aoine where do get off saying this stuff. If you want to know where the candidate stands, ask the candidate. What you claim someone else’s position is not meaningful. At least you did have the integrity not to claim Christine had such a position.

  14. Aoine says:

I get off saying it because it is the truth -I did ask where the candidate stood and this is what her REPRESENTATIVES said to me!
    simple as that!

If you don’t like it – I suggest you tell Christine she get a better staff to represent her and/or her views.

  15. a. teabag says:

yeah aoine! you might as well say a politician who has controversial acquaintances shares every single moon-bat thought those acquaintances have. i mean who, I ask you WHO, would be so ignorant to go around claiming things like that?

oh, cod’s campaign signs look like children’s cereal.

  16. Aoine says:

well – controversial acquaintances are a far different cry from REPRESETATIVES.

I have some whacky friends too – but I would NEVER have them out there in the public representing MY views

A politician’s selected reresentatives speak for that politician – they are the public face and voice when the politicians themselves are not available

It shows at the very least – a lack of good judgement and lax control of one’s campaign to have reps go off topic and end up making you look bad

In anybody’s playbook, that is not way to win a campaign, and a sure way to loose it

you asked “I mean who, I ask you WHO, would be so ignorant to go around claiming things like that? ”
well I will tell you WHO – CHRISTINE O’DONNELL’S REPRESENTATIVES AT FEATIVAL HISPANO IN MILLSBORO, DE ON AUGUST 22,2010at approx 1130-1200 – That’s WHO.

  17. a. price says:

sorry, A. I was taking a shot at RD for all of his righteous opposition to Obama because one time he went to an open house at Bill Ayres’ place. He got so offended you might suggest COD is crazy because of who she chooses to associate with and who she has represent her, he needed to be reminded of his own words…. something conservatives absolutely hate.

i agree with you. if she wants to be taken seriously, she at least needs to get the semi-intelligent ‘Bags stumping for her.
