Don’t Forget: Jim Westhoff Deserves Support

Filed in Delaware by on September 17, 2010

Jim Westhoff is running for Delaware State Representative in the 35th District, and he could use our help.  Jim has been endorsed by the Progressive Dems and Planned Parenthood.  I spoke with Jim yesterday after receiving info on his upcoming fundraiser.  Here is what he said:

I’m knocking on doors every night, trying to win one front porch at a time. People are very supportive, and they are glad to see that a regular guy is running against someone they feel is not concerned with their situation.  I tell them that it doesn’t seem like we, people like us, are being represented anymore. That message is resonating very well. I know that we can never outspend Dave Wilson, so we’re going to out-work him.

Jim’s fundraiser is this weekend.

    That’s great, Reis!

  4. MJ says:

Jim is a great guy. He knows his stuff and has a great grasp of the issues.

  5. Rob Robinson says:

    I just bought two tickets.

Please do what you can to support Jim. It is a tough district and he has a wealthy opponent, but he is working incredibly hard and doing it for the right reasons. He is the kind of candidate we need to support for the future of our party.

  6. pandora says:

Thanks, Rob! Jim has really been working it!

  7. cassandra m says:

I just bought two tickets. Jim seems like a really great guy who would make a fantastic addition to the State House.

  8. anon says:

Jim is a fantastic guy, genuinely progressive, young, enthusiastic and articulate – a sharp contrast to the incumbent on all fronts.

On Tuesday, even though not on the primary ballot, he was out working the polls, greeting voters and handing out lit in a very low-key style. Got at least a few people thinking about him in the fall.

  9. Miscreant says:

Jim was the definitive voice of DelDot this last winter, and did an extremely admirable job at covering for their widespread incompetence. He has bureaucratic doublespeak down to a fine art. If that was the kind of background and character I was looking for to represent me, he would definitely have my vote.

“…. young, enthusiastic and articulate – a sharp contrast to the incumbent on all fronts.”

True. David Lee W. is kind of an average guy, by comparison. Always was.

  10. M.Opaliski says:

He’s got no chance this year but the run might be good experience, not saying that he should have waited but he should have a much better shot once Wilson gets drawn out in 2012.
