Monday’s Asshat of the Day

The only thing that pisses me off more than activist judges is activist attorneys general.

Since taking office in January, Ken Cuccinelli (Confederate/Teabagger-VA) has demanded that all of the Virginia’s universities stop enforcing their non-discrimination rules when it comes to gays and lesbian, has filed suit to have HCR declared unconstitutional, had once said that it was “possible” that President Obama was born in Kenya and thus any bill Obama signed into law could be challenged, and subpoenaed the University of Virginia to go after a global warming researcher.

Cuccinelli is a right-wing demagogue. He has stated that “homosexuality is wrong,” and said during his campaign for AG last year that “I happen to think that it represents (to put it politely; I need my thesaurus to be polite) behavior that is not healthy to an individual and in aggregate is not healthy to society.” Wow, talk about a forward thinker.

He also issued pins to his staff that covered up the left breast of Virtus on the Virginia state seal. Reminds me of when John Ashcroft put a curtain up to hide Spirit of Justice because her breasts were exposed. On August 23, 2010, Cuccinelli issued a legal opinion concluding that the Virginia Board of Health had the power to require abortion clinics to meet hospital-type standards, even though the General Assembly had rejected legislation to achieve the same result.

But Cuccinelli is one of these climate change deniers. He figures that if he can harass the people who research global warming and climate change, they will cease their evil experiments and research. He’s also a member of the Flat Earth Society.

He’s one of these activist attorneys general that will use his position, not to represent the people of the Commonwealth of Virginia, but to further his political causes. And because of this, Ken Cuccinelli is our Asshat of the Day.

BTW – I like these so-called “activist judges” who raise the ire of the teabaggers and the wingnuts.
