  1. I hope Al asks him about debt slavery!

Also, pin him down on whether he would have voted on DADT repeal. I heard him trying to weasel on that issue last night.

Ask him about Social Security. First he said he didn’t want to change it, then he said he wanted to give younger people “choices” (my mind said privatize), then he talked about raising the retirement age.

I hope Al knows the retirement age thing is false, the designers of SS did know about retirement age.

Good resource on Social Security – StrengthenSocialSecurity.org

  2. pandora says:

He also ran away from the Tea Party during last night’s debate.

I’d also like to hear specifics on:

*How he’d actually create jobs, and
*Since he wants to shrink government I’d like to hear specifically what programs he’d cut. Did I say specifically?

  3. Ask him why debt is more important than getting the economy running. Ask him how to reconcile wanting to cut taxes with reducing debt. The math by Paul Krugman showed if you lowered taxes while simultaneously reducing spending you’d have to cut almost all government services to do it.

  4. pandora says:

And about that Tea Party dodge… Urquhart delighted in calling Carney a progressive. Fine. Make Urquhart own his base.

  5. cassandra_m says:

I want to know how he can be an advocate of *smaller government*, but in his own tenure in government he was trying to expand his own agency.

  6. He could ask why it’s o.k. for a developer to benefit from the government building infrastructure to his new developments but unemployment & food stamps are welfare that should be cut.

He should ask if Urquhart supports Christine O’Donnell and then about specific things that O’Donnell has said:
    – Does he think O’Donnell received classified information about a Chinese take-over of the U.S.

He talked about the threats from Iran & North Korea. What actions is he suggesting the U.S. take in regards to these threats?

  7. pandora says:

If this guys says “confidence” one more time…

He has no plan to create jobs.

  8. Anon says:

This is the first time I’ve heard Glenn, he really has a grasp on the real problems.

I’ll wait to I hear Carney on Al’s show, but I Glenn is the guy.

  9. cassandra_m says:

Actually he does not of a grasp on real problems

    How can I tell?

The tax cuts = jobs canard.
The crisis of business confidence canard.

  10. pandora says:

He just said that since his mom was on medicare – and medicare said she couldn’t have any more physical therapy after a stroke – that he and his dad couldn’t pay for the therapy out of their own pockets because it wasn’t a “medical necessity.”

WTF? So old, rich people can’t get medical services even if they pay for them out of pocket? Come on!

Also, notice how “mom” needed to be paid for by dad. Are his parents divorced? If not, isn’t dad’s money mom’s money, too?

  11. cassandra_m says:

I heard that too. And certainly isn’t the experience of elderly people I watch over.

And he doesn’t know that the ACA makes Congress and much of their staffs get the insurance provided by that program.

  12. Huh, that doesn’t even make sense pandora.

  13. pandora says:

Not a lot of this interview makes sense.

Come on, Al! Step it up!

  14. cassandra_m says:

And here we go on earmarks. They aren’t hidden and they are a really small part of the problem.

So this is basically just a litany of the talking points — few (if any) are based in any reality. Not that you’d know that at the end of this….

  15. MJ says:

Cassandra, you forgot the liberals are Nazis canard
