Doobifying the BP Oil Spill

Filed in National by on June 22, 2010 2 Comments

For you youngsters out there, that refers to the Doobie Brothers. They were lame band when I was a kid too. But they did provide material with which to parody the situation with BP:

The DNC — as rumored — does seem to be interested in using the Barton apology (and all of the other apologies and defenses from the GOP) to highlight how the GOP would govern:

Mayberry This Ain’t

I’m not sure how closely you have been following the race for Sheriff in New Castle County.  As small-time elections go, this one has the makings of the most interesting primary in New Castle County.  Long-time Sheriff, Mike Walsh has held the office since Reagan was elected President.  He is being challenged by NCC police […]

General McChrystal’s PR Offensive Failure — Update

Filed in National by on June 22, 2010 26 Comments

This morning’s news has been full of reactions and some deconstructions of the upcoming Rolling Stone article that profiles the top U.S. Commander in Afghanistan, but apparently ends up dissing President Obama, VP Biden, the WH National Security Team and the State Department along the way. I haven’t been able to find the article to read (there was a pdf at Politico that I can’t find), but what I do read makes me wonder what the General was thinking wen he agreed to this.

Poor Steve Cohen

Filed in National by on June 22, 2010 4 Comments

The Republican Party is crazy. But no one, and I mean no one, out-crazies Texas. The new platform of the Texas Republican Party is so full of crazy it should have its own entry in the DSM, but this part takes the cake for me: Further, we urge Congress to withhold Supreme Court jurisdiction in […]

Here are some: (a) To pass something the legislator deems worthwhile; (b) to pass something sought by the Governor or other State agency; […]

Crist Pulls Ahead In The Polls

Filed in National by on June 21, 2010 6 Comments

I’ve been watching Florida very closely mainly because it’s one of the most prominent tests the Tea Party will face.  And while a lot can happen until the election this can’t be good news for the “purge the moderates” group. Gov. Charlie Crist has a large lead in the three-way race to the be the […]
