The Washington Post put together a list of 10 freshmen in the 112th Congress to watch that includes Sen. Coons.
Sen.-elect Chris Coons was widely expected to lose to Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) in the race to permanently replace Vice President Joe Biden (D-Del.). But Christine O’Donnell’s tea party-driven win over in the September 2010 GOP primary transformed the race. During the 2010 campaign, Coons stressed his “independence” after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) bizarrely referred to the Democrat as his “pet.”
Oops, Washington Post, Coons is not Senator-elect, but actually a Senator.
Coons is a sharp guy and has a good grasp of the issues. Hopefully he will not fall into the party politics trap in DC.
I voted for him. Even did a photo opp with him. ( part of the incentive was that it was me giving the tea baggers in delaware the middle finger. ). i think the photos are still on his website and the news journal’s website. They even interviewed me.
Go Chris! He is also carrying on the Biden tradition of lending a hand here in Delaware when we need him.
He was also name by one organization “The Luckiest Man of the Year” He was put up to run as the set loser and came out a winner!

I am not surprised that they named him as someone to watch. He is smart as a whip.

Chris is really smart with the added bonus that he understands the issues well enough that he can explain difficult & complex issues in a way that almost everyone can understand. I know that most of the people in DE that won’t be able to understand are the Bill Collie sycophants. I have no hope that they will ever understand an intelligent well-reasoned idea, so it doesn’t really matter if they understand.
Collie is not even a consideration in DE. The only people dumber than his listener is any business that advertises on that show, and the moron that hired him and pays him.
