The population of Delaware as listed in the 210 Census is 897,934. If you divide the $320 million equally among ever many woman and child, we would each get a check for $356 and change. Even if we reinstitute the $95 check program (which seems to have broad support in the General Assembly), every Delaware resident gets a nice chunk of change back. Some people will save that $300+ and others will pay off some debt, but a lot of it will be spent on basic necessities and be pumped back into the Delaware economy. This “one-time” escheat windfall would be a nice one-time bonus check.

Great Idea. That worked so well when George Bush did it, I can see why you want to do it again.

Its time to give some bucks to the private providers for the disabled who havent had a raise in 8 years. Our disabled are living hand to mouth. Paying people to care for them where the salary starts at minimum wage causes constant staff turnovers. You get what you pay for. The disability community in this State needs a hand up. Course we dont have paid lobbyists, or private think tanks, but the Governor and the Finance Committee knows very well…the disabled need a raise. We simply cant go on this way living day to day without any retention of good staff, without constant training for new staff who stay only long enough to find a job making $10.00 per hour.
