Gawker can burn too…
Gawker is doing this sometimes funny, sometimes inane ranking of the states based on no criteria whatsoever. It is funny when they are talking about other more horrible states. But not when they talk about my beloved Delaware.
Charlie Copeland, on behalf of the people of Delaware, go straight to Hell and burn.
The impervious duPont heir thinks Governor Markell is wrong to think about people’s safety and their well being, and has criticized the Governor for closing state offices in all three counties today at noon in advance of the hurricane, sending all non essential employees home to prepare for the storm and get to safety if they are under an evacuation order
Another Zealot Opines on the Cause of the Earthquake
It didn’t take long for the Ayatollah Pat Robertson to express his views on the earthquake. Video inside.

Hurricane Prep Open Thread
I think that we are conditioned by TV news to think that weather events like this approaching storm are over-hyped, ratings-chasing, bullshit. I hope that this storm turns out to be over-hyped, ratings-chasing, bullshit.
Steve Jobs Understood Something About Human Beings That Republicans Get and Democrats Don’t

It discusses Jobs’ particular genius:
“Steve Jobs may not be the greatest technologist or engineer of his generation. But he is perhaps the greatest user of technology to ever live, and it was Apple’s great fortune that he also happened to be the company’s founder.”

I’m Calling The GOP Race for Perry
It is going to be Perry. I’m running 97.6% correct on these prognostications, so scoff at your own risk.
The GOP can’t escape it’s basic programming. It is hard wired to pick the strict daddy figure. Republicans are children who…
Now We Know What Caused The Earthquake
Apparently gay marriage is responsible for yesterday’s earthquake along the East Coast. So says Rabbi Yehuda Levin. Levin, who is involved with NOM (the anti-marriage equality group), claims that the quake, which was centered in Eric Cantor’s House district, was retribution from G-D. “The Talmud states, ‘You have shaken your male member in a place […]
“Teabag” Tom Kovach to Take on John Carney
He is looking at it. You have to read between the lines, but it is there. It is a shame, really. I liked Kovach for about ten minutes before he realized that he needed to become a nutbag to run statewide as a Republican.
