You want a voice in Progressive politics?

Filed in National by on September 7, 2011

Tonight, at the regular monthly meeting of the Progressive Democrats for Delaware (PDD), the PDD will also form its’ 2012 Endorsement Subcommittee from its membership and begin discussions on requirements for political endorsements by PDD. The PDD is a grassroots Liberal action group pledged to support a wide range of progressive legislation and candidates at the local, state, and federal levels, and our monthly meetings are open to all like-minded voters. Thus, this is a golden opportunity for those interested in progressive politics who want to be involved in the 2012 electoral process. Members of the Endorsement Committee not only formalize the endorsement criteria candidates need to meet in order to get a progressive endorsement, but they will also have the opportunity to meet with and interview interested candidates during the upcoming year.

Also, PDD will feature a review of the first half of the 2011 Delaware State Legislative session with State Rep John Kowalko (D-Newark).

Later this month, Senator Chris Coons will be our guest at a special meeting on September 27th, at 6:30 p.m., also at the Delaware Democratic Party Headquarters.

The meeting tonight will start at 7 pm at 19 E. Commons Blvd, in New Castle.

This has been a very valuable committee. Perhaps the PDD’s best contribution. I commend anyone who can give their time to such a worthy project and hope that it steers clear of any hijinx that could undermine the effort.

ahhhh…the monthly Kowalko worship session, no thanks

We are also expecting State Senator David Sokola to join us for part of tonight’s meeting, to offer a glimpse into what worked well and not so well on the other side of Leg Hall.

  4. Is there any chance that you PDD’s can get Karen Peterson to consider a run for NCC Executive? I know she knows that it is in our best interests if Paul Clark is defeated and it is only someone of her stature who can get the job done. I know what magnificant things she’s done in the General Assembly and still has to do there but NCC needs her now. She can always return to state level after she gets our land use dept. straightened out.

    Please, pretty please?

I ‘d go tonight but have to be at the Cooch’s Bridge memorial ceremony in Glasgow. You know, where Pam Scott-Paul Clarky bull-dozed the heritage farm?

aahhh! the monthly worship of godess Peterson..thanks but no thanks. You gotta be a progressive first with a track record to back it up!

  6. Peterson has a tremendous track record, the most valuable progressive in Delaware the last few years, IMHO.

More than anybody, she has effectively kicked down the door to open government. Her contribution to the cause of equal rights is invaluable.

And I defy anyone to find a more dependable progressive voice and vote in Dover.

Having said that, I think she is needed in Dover more than in NCC.

  7. AQC says:

Karen Peterson may vote progressively but she’s got no one’s back, including other progressives. She is all about what’s in it for her IMHO.

  8. Well, I’ve personally seen her campaign for other progressive candidates, something I’ve never seen, say, alleged Senate Majority Leader Patti Blevins do.

  9. AQC says:

Who have you seen her campaign for because I have seriously never seen it? I have, however, seen her work against a progressive candidates that she thought would lose.

  10. anon says:

Nancy, why don’t you run against Clark?

  11. Joanne Christian says:

OMG-I forgot Blevins was Majority leader. Must be that bang-up job she’s doing leading.

  12. If I had two pennies to rub together I’d have to give one to the tax man and the other to feed the animals.
