Thursday Open Thread [4.5.12]

Now that the Republican Primary is ending, I am going to start posting campaign ads in the open threads. But before that, we do have two polls from Pennsylvania and New York showing Romney winning. That seems to confirm that yes, the race is over.

REPUBLICAN PRIMARY — PRESIDENT
PENNSYLVANIA (PPP): Romney 42, Santorum 37, Paul 9 and Gingrich 6.
NEW YORK (Quinnipiac): Romney 54, Santorum 21, Gingrich 9 and Paul 8.

GENERAL ELECTION — PRESIDENT
NEVADA (PPP): Obama 51, Romney 43.

And now just an extra video showing the President tearing apart the Republican Apocalypse Now Plan.

I’m just glad that Santorum didn’t win.

Sheriff crazy from Sussex County is going to be on WGMD at 530 if anyone needs a laugh this afternoon. 945-9292 if anyone wants to speak to him, doubt the fat man will let anyone oppose him though.

You need to add a choice to the poll that says Who?

Ceila reports Janet “Smear Tom Carper” Rzewnicki is a potential candidate for the Sokola-Sorenson seat. THAT should be interesting.

I just watched Ed Schultz interviewing Van Jones about his work to stop ALEC and Coke & Pepsi withdrawing from the group. Did a little digging at his site (Color of Change), couldn’t find much as to their members, did a member search, found this site http://www.alecexposed.org Now this may be old news, but, I found this interesting info under politicians by state for Delaware.

    E. Bradford Bennett (D-32)
    Deborah Hudson (R-12)
Daniel Short (R-39), ALEC State Chairman

Also, if you’re thinking of boycotting their members, you basically won’t be able to buy anything – food, drugs, insurance, banks, cars…

    Also from Celia:

Ellen Barrosse, the founder of the pro-life A Rose and A Prayer, is running in an election later this month to try to oust Priscilla Rakestraw, a moderate, as the national committeewoman.

Ellen Barrosse is Christine O’Donnell with a job.

    Thank you, puck!

puck: that info’s nearly three weeks old. http://delawaregrapevine.com/3-12GOPcommitteewoman.asp

  9. Bookkeeper's Son says:

Barrosse is much smarter and more politically savvy than O’Donnell. ( Faint praise, I know.) But A Rose and A Prayer’s tactics actually helped derail embryonic stem cell legislation a few years ago, and several legislators in heavily Catholic districts are intimidated by her. She knows what she’s doing.

Barrosse has more than a job; she has started at least two successful businesses from scratch, and they weren’t opportunities handed to her by a friend or relative. She’s too rabidly pro-life to ever get elected to public office in New Castle County, but in a party position she could bring some energy to the moribund R’s. Dems take her lightly at their peril.
