More On Polarization of Congress

Chris Cillizza a over at The Fix is usually quite good, but in today’s post he is just playing the devil’s advocate about Mann and Ornstein’s excellent piece from this past weekend and, quite frankly, it’s quite lame. I do believe the website he points us to might have some useful information, but as this morning’s headline in The Fix, I don’t think so. Here is a chart that really shows the issue of polarization of Congress.

Man, *that* was lazy as heck. Joe Lieberman couldn’t win his Democratic primary *because* he was just that extreme. Not because he was a moderate.

One of the problems with the DC press is its lazy classifications of people. Moderates aren’t people without ideological allegiances, they are people working for the status quo. Like Blanche Lincoln working for Walmart at every turn.
