Can the GOP Swift Boat Obama?
The Atlantic is reporting that the swift boating of Obama has begun with a new SEAL video. Am I worried? Not so much. The Obama Campaign in 2008 showed their ability to respond to attacks whether from Hillary Clinton or John McCain. And the fact of the matter is that Obama got bin Laden. The Republicans didn’t.
Margaret Carlson also explains why the Right will not be able to swift boat Obama.
There’s a problem at the heart of this strategy: Obama — against the advice of two trusted advisers, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Vice President Joe Biden — actually called for the kill. Romney did not, and might not have, given his views.
One thing to remember about Kerry’s swift boating was that it was all a lie. It was out there without any pushback from the candidate or any accountability from the press for ages. This will get alot of unpaid media visibility from a media who rarely questioned the inappropriate use of 9/11 imagery when used by Bush or Giuliani or McCain.
On the “cool” ad which accentuates the President’s coolness then asks, are you better off than you were 4 years ago…..
