The Anglo-Saxon Romney Campaign
Looks like the Romney campaign has traded in the dog whistle for a bullhorn.

In remarks that may prompt accusations of racial insensitivity, one suggested that Mr Romney was better placed to understand the depth of ties between the two countries than Mr Obama, whose father was from Africa.
“We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and he feels that the special relationship is special,” the adviser said of Mr Romney, adding: “The White House didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have”.
I am not shocked by this statement – I’ve always known this is what many conservatives believe. What shocks me is how blatant their statements have become.
I didn’t think I could be – but I’m shocked.

I’m beginning to think this is Romney’s only qualification. It is the only thing he’s actually running on.
The rest of the article is even better, with Romney promising to expand the most expensive military on the planet and continue wield our strength as world policeman. This guy would also be George Bush’s fourth term.
Europe has heard this racial shit before. After all they’ve been through, I wouldn’t think Europe would have the stomach for this kind of racial identity politics.
This is Romney’s Mein Kampf, taking aim at European Muslim immigrants, probably inspired by his damn neocon campaign advisors. I hope Mitt does not find an audience for this shit.
I think Romney’s foreign affairs comments are going to be received very badly. I’m looking forward to reading reaction in the European press. I think he will be seen as a bigger buffoon than George Bush.

Am I the only one who remembers Fearless Fosdick — the Dick Tracy parodies that used to run with the Lil Abner strips — and how the closing panel always showed people with bullet holes making them look like Swiss Cheese. Romney is looking more and more like a character from the strip.
Do American conservatives believe that the term ‘conservative’ is interchangble amongst democratic countries?
Tories are not GOP. Obama’s and current Dem policies mirror the Tories much closer than our Rightists do. They’re so naïve!
