Del Dems File FEC Complaint against Pires while Pires follows the Rzewnicki Strategy.

The Delaware Democratic Party today filed a formal complaint with the FEC against Independent Senate candidate and all around crazy man Alex Pires, and his campaign committee. The Dems allege that on numerous occasions Pires has improperly used the staff and resources (financial and otherwise) of several of Pires-owned local bars, restaurants and nightclubs downstate. Further the complaint alleges that Pires has not followed the disclaimer requirements regarding campaign advertisements and materials, which provide to the public information as to which organization or candidate is responsible for the material. In response to this complaint, take a look at this amazing and self destructive statement from Alex Pires:
"(1) Mr. Carper beat his first wife, (2) Mr. Carper beat his second wife, and (3) Mr. Carper repeatedly lies about his military record- Mr. Carper has never set foot in Vietnam, was not and is not a Vietnam Vet, yet brags about having done three tours in Vietnam. In retaliation, he complains to the FEC that I gave three older ladies pieces of chicken from Jimmy's Grill- the best chicken in Delaware."
Old time politicos in this state will remember this "Carper beats his wife" tactic from the failed campaign of a once rising GOP star named Janet Rzewnicki, the State Treasurer at the time she ran against Governor Carper in 1996. It failed then and destroyed her career for a simple reason: it was not true. May it now destroy and bankrupt Alex Pires.

Thursday Open Thread [10.11.12]

Interestingly, the Pew poll shows expectations for Rep. Ryan are actually higher than for Vice President Biden, according to the Wall St Journal. Before last week's debate, the expectations were very high for President Obama. May Paul Ryan suffer the same expectations result.

The Polling Report [10.11.12]

Time to feel better polling junkies. The best week of Romney's campaign is over and he did not take the lead in the major swing states. Yes, he is still too close for comfort, yes he got a debate bump in the swing states. But he did not take the lead. He did not hurt Obama's numbers. Colorado returns to the good side, and we have new polls in Nevada, Wisconsin, Florida, Virginia, Ohio and Michigan. Here is the map:

Q: Is Cathy Cloutier Pro-Choice Or Anti-Choice? A: BOTH!

Some things I simply cannot make up. I've written for some time that Cathy Cloutier has no core convictions or beliefs, and I've written that she will say anything to anybody (usually in 'confidence', as in 'nudge-nudge, I'm really a Democrat') to get their vote. I have now discovered that Cathy Cloutier hasĀ  somehow been endorsed both by Planned Parenthood of Delaware and the virulently anti-choice A Rose and A Thorn Prayer. You can't earn Planned Parenthood's endorsement if you oppose choice, and you can't earn A Rose & A Prayer's endorsement if you support choice. (Captain Obvious.) Let me just say that I consider this to be an ideological impossibility...unless someone responds to two different questionnaires in diametrically-opposite fashion.

We’re number 41!

Ah...Delaware, the 41st "most livable" state, according to Gallup. Our median income is a rocking 10th-highest in the United States, and we have the 11th-lowest percentage of families living below the poverty line. But dragging down our stats; a third of us are obese, we have scant access to clean water, smoke at a higher rate than most states and visit the dentist rarely. C'mon people.
