Simpler & DE GOP continue shameful silence on politically motivated violence
This is the GOP we are up against in Delaware. Instead of a clear statement denouncing political violence spurred by Donald Trump’s inflammatory racist rhetoric – we get shameful silence from DEGOP leader Ken Simpler.
Well, not complete silence. Like Trump, Simpler kept campaigning, so at least there is this:

State Treasurer Ken Simpler had a fun filled day of learning with the MPHS Green Knights as Mt. Pleasant’s Delaware Principal for a Day!

Ted Kaufman on Our Flimsy House of Cards Economy
Ted Kaufman continues to try and talk some sense into NJ Opinion Page readers: (Trump Tax Cut) directly caused major losses in federal government revenues, as wealthy individuals, banks and corporations have taken advantage of the reduced taxes and generous tax loopholes. Unsurprisingly, this is contributing to major increases in our annual deficits and the […]

What better way to evoke the spirit of Halloween than with this ‘Voodoo church’-inspired slice of ominosity from the Night-Tripper?:
Right Wing Violence is a Greater Threat to Americans Than Any Other Ideological Violence
If you block out the blabbering of “centrist” Democrats like John Carney, and look at the the plain facts of the matter, the “both sides” argument falls apart rather quickly.
Trump Voter Kills 11 in Pittsburgh Synagogue
The media is falling all over itself to spread the GOP spin that Robert Bowers is not a Trump supporter. At some point Bowers felt Trump wasn’t violent and anti-semitic enough for him, so he stopped supporting him. But make no mistake – Trump’s message of hatred and division is at the center of this. Trump radicalized Bowers and hundreds of other like who now feel that their racial grievances have been legitimized.
Federal prosecutors have filed hate crime charges against a Pennsylvania man who authorities say stormed a Pittsburgh synagogue and opened fire, killing 11 people.
Robert Bowers, 46, of suburban Baldwin, surrendered to authorities after Saturday morning’s shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue. It’s believed he made anti-Semitic statements during the shooting and targeted Jews in posts on social media that are a focus of the investigation, according to a federal law enforcement official.
Delaware GOP Silence on Political Violence is Deafening
As the highest ranking elected Republican official, Ken Simpler is the de facto leader of the Republican Party in Delaware.
Simpler has a responsibility to Delaware that he is trying to avoid. His inability to address the Republican Party’s problem with politically motivated violence reveals Simpler to be a contemptible low-life. His continuing silence is nothing but cowardice.
Ken Simpler is so fearful of the the Delaware Republican base that he is utterly mute and pitifully retiring at a moment in history that calls for courage and moral clarity.
He really is a disgusting piece of shit.
Elaine Manlove Finds Lavelle guilty of violating the “spirit the law”
Manlove’s statement cuts the baby in half. She seems to want everyone to love her. It is a little sad really. Nobody wants half a baby. Especially the bottom half.
Lavelle is found to be technically not guilty… but (pssst…[sotto voce] continue reading… really he is guilty.)
No “Nexus”
In New York, officials from the Police Department said there was no “nexus” between the shooting in Pittsburgh and New York City but that they were taking precautionary measures until more is known about the shooting.

Yes, Sir. There is a nexus. He resides, for now, at 1100 Pennsyvannia Ave.
Trump & Biden on “Division”
In the vacuum of a “presidential” response to the bombing attacks, Biden stepped up. That isn’t surprising. Biden enjoys his current role as America’s adult. But let’s have a conversation about what ending “this division, this hatred, this ugliness” means. Because if it means Democrats go back to being obsequious pussies who allow Republicans to run riot, in the hope that the GOP will eventually get tired of holding power – count me out.
Trump:
“Well I think I’ve been toned down, if you want to know the truth. I could really tone it up because, as you know, the media’s been extremely unfair to me and the Republican Party,” Trump said hours after the FBI arrested a suspect in connection to the mailed pipe bombs sent to prominent Democrats and CNN this week.
Biden:
“This division, this hatred, this ugliness — it has to end,” Biden said at the university. “Words matter.”
“I’ve never, ever, ever looked at a political opponent as an enemy. They are an opponent in a contest of ideas, but not an enemy.
“We are Americans before we are Democrats or Republicans or independents.”

We take requests here at Song Of The Day. But we only honor them when the songs are as memorable as this one. The original ‘Caravan’, done by Barney Bigard & His Jazzopators. All the musicians in the Jazzopators were members of Duke Ellington’s Orchestra. Ellington plays piano here, with Cootie Williams on trumpet, Juan […]
