Old-School Biden Preps Old-School Campaign

Filed in National by on March 19, 2019

CNN has a piece up this morning about Joe Biden’s slo-mo campaign rollout. How will Joe sew up the nomination? By naming a vice-presidential candidate quickly plus…ENDORSEMENTS!

Biden, who has been carefully watching the field of Democratic hopefuls grow, will try to quickly seize command of the race. Democrats familiar with his plans say he intends to unveil a roster of prominent supporters, including black leaders whose endorsements are seen as critical to his candidacy, as the race moves beyond Iowa and New Hampshire. … He plans to emphasize the record of the Obama administration over his own long record from the Senate and intends to push back on any notion he’s not progressive enough for today’s Democratic Party.

That part should be interesting. “I am too progressive” doesn’t sound like the greatest platform to campaign on to me, but I suppose it’s better than “I’m not old.”

“Briahna Joy Gray, national press secretary, a former attorney and senior politics editor at The Intercept…”

Fun local fact. Brie Gray was in Wilmington last year covering Kerri’s campaign. I bought her a beer at Nomad. We discussed her work at Current Affairs. True story. 😁

8 decades is not what you call fresh. Status quo Joe won’t hunt in this race. 3 chips on the table in a national championship race not what the voters are looking for. Real time politics has bypassed the fossilized gentleman and his cheerleaders are to cowardly tell him.
