And here I thought that ‘Whip Count’ would be the most insipid schlock I would encounter today…

So basically she did nothing, but glommed on and voted yes…

    Making us Delaware Veterans proud!

Another of a endless string of DE democrats whose only appeal is they aren’t crazy republicans

Why don’t you guys opening your homes to these poor children?

    Put up or shut up.

    • Alby says:

There are literally hundreds of thousands if not millions of people in this country who do sponsor immigrants and refugees. So your lame attempt here is yet another fail for people like you — sentient beings who don’t deserve the term “human.”

I mean, really. If you think this is a legitimate form of logic, you’re incredibly stupid, not to mention unoriginal. If you really are a Democrat who belongs to the Wilmington Club, you must be a developer, because they’re the only people I know with the combination of uncaring crudeness and lack of brainpower who accumulate enough money to join that club.

Unless, of course, you’re a doctor or a dentist. Lots of greedy assholes in those professions, too.

Believe it or not, this is now a certified wingnut talking-point. I heard it twice yesterday IRL.

      It’s funny for 2 reasons.

#1. As Al said many people do house and support refugees and asylum seekers. There are several group in DE that do it. One very good one is a group of Jewish comrades in N Wilmington. It should be rather obvious why that is.

#2. It’s a logically moronic statement. Tantamount to the old tax increase argument ‘well-why-don’t-you-just-send-more-money-to-the-treasury”™ gambit. Totally misunderstands how systemic change works.

    • Alby says:

Why don’t right-wingers go ahead and start that civil war they’re always talking about? Put up or shut up.

      • RE Vanella says:

Because they know we have the people. And we’ll burn down half of Georgia again.

    • Alby says:

The other point to make is that this is no threat at all. As when Trump said he’d send refugees to sanctuary cities, and the cities’ mayors said, “Fine with us.” If we said yes they’d rescind the offer, because this is about nothing but racism.

Whenever people say they’re against immigration for economic reasons, they’re making the same stupid argument Confederacy lovers do when they claim the Civil War was about states’ rights. Yes, of course it was. Southern states wanted the right to own human beings. They also wanted the right to force non-slave states to treat those humans who escaped as stolen property — property that had stolen itself, that is — which of course blows up the “states’ rights” argument right at the source, since they weren’t willing to give northern states the right to treat escaped slaves as humans.
