Klobuchar & John Carney Lost the Debate

Filed in National by on June 27, 2019

Wow. Klobuchar was terrible. If the world made sense, she’d see the light and drop out today. Who won?

The New Castle Country Democratic Party was one of the winners. They got a nice turnout for the debate watch party, signed up a bunch of people who are champing at the bit to start working to replace Republicans and shit-ass Democrats like John Carney.

Knowing that the Presidential vote of any given Delawarean is somewhat irrelevant, the party made the point that the Presidential year election is vital for leveraging the energy and turnout for down-ticket opportunities to turf out Republicans and shit-ass Democrats like John Carney.

  1. On days like this, Morning Joe is unwatchable.

‘The D’s have to be careful of not moving too far left.’

Poll after poll shows that people support the policies that the Morning Joe centrists quake at.

  2. jason330 says:

BTW – I love that the new party pros are dedicated to a policy of non-interference in primaries. Jesse Chadderdon and Erik Raser-Schramm really seem to get it and that shows in the results they’ve been posting.

We’re doomed, pay off your mortgage, collect SS as soon as you can and party like it’s 1999

  4. Let the record show that there is quite a bit of poetic license in the description of the the points that we made. As NCC chair, my primary job is to get Democrats elected and defeat Republicans. So far, so good on that front.

I did not make any reference to any Democrats other than celebrating the diversity of candidates that we helped to get elected in 2018.

We are all about beating Republicans and we will do so by helping all candidates run effective campaigns and introducing volunteers to campaigns.

I was overjoyed by the number of people turned out for our watch party last night. And I encourage everyone to come out to the watch party hosted by the Wilmington Democrats tonight at Timothy’s on the riverfront.

    • Jesse Chadderdon says:

Thanks for this clarification, Dave. It’s an important one. The second graph of this post significantly misrepresents your comments last night. Our Governor’s name was not invoked at all, as I remember it. Our job here in NCCo is to turn the legislative map completely blue. Where there are primaries, our job is to ensure that our eventual nominees are positioned to defeat their Republican opponents in November.

Oh boy. I stand by the post. I wasn’t putting words in anyone’s mouth except for the civilian attendees I spoke to.

Let the record show that I was referring to “a bunch of people who are champing at the bit to start working to replace Republicans and shit-ass Democrats like John Carney.”

You can’t deny that there were a bunch of people there champing at the bit to replace shit-ass Dems (like John Carney) and Republicans alike.

Most amazing statistic from last night’s debate: Only one statement all night had to be fact-checked, and it was determined to be true.

  6. jason330 says:

Yeah. So I reread it and can see your point.

  7. RE Vanella says:

If you know Carney is absolute garbage, but aren’t in a position to say so perhaps don’t say anything. Equivocation make it worse.

It is funny though. God forbid anyone thinks any party person said anything critical about the Governor!

    • jason330 says:

      Absolute garbage.

    • mediawatch says:

If they did, they would be acting like Republicans in the U.S. Senate.

    • Jesse Chadderdon says:

Clarifying a fact pattern is not an equivocation. This isn’t about governing (pardon the pun) what people think or don’t think about me or the Party writ large, it’s about correcting the record of what actually occured – and doing it respectfully at that.

      • RE Vanella says:

        Fact pattern?

Look we know no one would call Carney out in public. Jason has corrected the “record” insofar as his post is the “record.”

The fact pattern that motivated you to mention this erroneous detail is telling.

By the way, I do think the note on Twitter re: the debate candidates and the folks that killed the gun legislation in GA is interesting.

I’d love for you to come on and unpack that idea.

      • Alby says:

That you would worry about it enough to chime in speaks volumes.

  8. Everybody thinks it. Even those who can’t say it publicly.

  9. mediawatch says:

Re: Carney, and Jesse’s response, all one can say is “Is that the best you’ve got?”
