Joe DiStefano Sums Up All the Biden Sleaze Delawareans Have Ignored for 40 Years

Filed in National by on November 9, 2019

Joe DiStefano, Philadelphia Inquirer columnist and News-Journal alumnus, has written a piece so damning of Joe Biden’s soft corruption that it can’t help but damn our entire state government philosophy in the process.

This is what Democrats, as opposed to progressives who believe in good government regardless of party, have persistently overlooked — people voted for Trump because they are fed up with legalized corruption, which is what it is when relatives of elected officials, or ex-officials themselves, go into the lobbying racket. The common folk might be fooled by demagogues, but they wouldn’t have been susceptible to Trump if Democrats didn’t prance around saying things like Biden “did nothing wrong” in Ukraine.

Bullshit. It’s wrong and anyone who isn’t invested in the Democratic Party knows it. Upton Sinclair said it best in his quixotic quest for the California governorship: “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.”

That is incredible journalism. Everyone should read it.

BTW, the ‘Republican legislator’ who was not mentioned by name? That’d be one Mike Ramone. DiStefano wrote a great article about that sleazy ethical affair while the News Journal worked to cover it up.

  2. What still shocks me as a 6 year newcomer to Delaware is the self dealing among Democrats migrating from NFP’s,, party offices, elected office and back to jobs within government. I’m willing to account for some of it attributed to our smallness, but not all of it. So the Delaware Way shown in this article does not surprise me about Joe’s son and brother. It leaves little room for doubt about Joe’s complicity with his family members I’m really sad to say.
