Biden’s Delusions of Comity Reach New Level

Filed in National by on December 31, 2019

Maybe now people will understand why Barack Obama hasn’t endorsed Joe Biden for president. Biden, who served loyally as Obama’s vice president, told a New Hampshire town hall last night that he’d be open to putting a Republican on the ticket as his own veep.

The audience didn’t take him seriously at first. “The answer is: I would, but I can’t think of one now,” Biden said in response to a question. As the audience laughed, he clarified, “No, no, no, no, no, no. Look. No, I’m serious. Here’s what I mean. Let me explain that. You know, there are some really decent Republicans that are out there still. But here’s the problem right now, of the well-known ones: They’ve got to step up.”

That’s it, folks. That’s the bipartisan comity Biden is proposing as the solution to the country’s problems — he’s going to urge some of the “well-known ones” to do the right thing, which apparently he thinks has never occurred to any of them before now. He really seems up to the task ahead, wouldn’t you say?

Ooh! Ooh! (As Gunther Toody used to say) – Biden/McConnell 2020. Now that would be a ticket made in heaven/hell (take your pick)!

Happy New Year to one and all!

Doesn’t Biden have a, you know? Staff? Is he on his own, adrift? Someone needs to give Joe a talking to.

He’d pick a never Trumper, which Trumpites hate as much as they hate us, moving no votes. A politically bad idea from a good guy.

      • RE Vanella says:

What kind of Republican would he pick do you think? Mitt Romney. Michael Bloomberg.

        • Alby says:

No, definitely a defense hawk. Graham is exactly who he would have picked if Graham hadn’t joined the dark side. They were pretty close before Trump happened.

I just cracked this. Biden forgot that McCain was dead.

  4. bamboozer says:

Before there was Coons there was Biden, another DINO that never met an aisle he didn’t want to reach over. Also a fan of perhaps the most absurd political statement of modern times: “All we have to do is talk to them”. Talk to McConnell… Yeah… Right!

  5. Paul says:

Biden isn’t just opposing Trump, he’s becoming the Dem’s tRump. Facts, anyone? Biden is bizarre…
