Trump Is Furious At CDC…: …not for being unprepared for the coronavirus, but for spooking the stock market.
Trump’s Acting DNI Secretary Likely Couldn’t Get A Security Clearance. You know, that ‘failure to register as a foreign lobbyist’ thingy. This time, for Hungary’s oppressive regime. Where does he find these people?
Meet The Compulsive Gambler Who Is Trump’s ‘Deep State’ Purgemaster. Former chief-of-staff Kelly fired his ass for gambling. Kelly’s gone, so he’s back.
More D’s & I’s Believe That Bernie Can Beat Trump… than any other candidate. People aren’t clamoring for someone from the mushy middle.
Speaker Pete Less Than Forthcoming On Legislative Live-Streaming Proposal? The question mark was a teaser. The answer is yes. The leaders don’t want it. Do you know how to get it? Elect more rank-and-file progressives.
What do you want to talk about?
The New York Times has a story up about the dam removal projects along Brandywine Creek. It’s been covered locally but interesting that it made the national press.
From DNREC Fish advisory pages. “The advisory for striped bass – along with channel catfish, white catfish and American eel – caught from the tidal Brandywine was to eat no more than two 8-ounce meals per year, while women of childbearing age and children younger than 6 years old were advised to eat none. The latest data indicates that consumption advice can be safely increased to three 8-oz. meals per year for an average adult angler.”
The Brandywine is where Wilmington gets its water from. MMMMM… Drink up.
Well, as noted the advisory concerns the tidal portion of the Brandywine. After reading the article with the emphasis on better fishing opportunities afforded once the dams came down, it occurred to me that the contaminated fish would be able to get further up stream where people were advised not to consume more than 6 -8 oz portions per year of the “clean” fish.
They only enter the river to breed. The ones that do so die. The rest are caught before they take in much in the way of toxins (they don’t eat on spawning runs).
The advisories are about fish that live in the waters on a more permanent basis.
Again, from DNREC :”Generally speaking, older, larger individual fish (breeders) accumulate the most contaminants. In some cases contaminants are shed each time the fish spawn( some species spawn more than once in their lives). Since fish accumulate many contaminants in their fatty tissues (and deposit those contaminants in the environment they die in), certain species with higher oil content can pose more risk than others when both inhabit polluted areas.” The more contaminated fish are the ones in the tidal river….not the upper river. As the dams come down the tide creeps further up river. SCIENCE.
The shad lives most of its life in the Atlantic Ocean, not tidal or fresh water. SCIENCE.
Lol, I guess the original posted reference has been deleted. Shad? Striped bass (rock fish). Remember…I’m on your side. Bernie for me, but don’t lie to me.
You understand we don’t drink it directly from the river, right?
I’m more worried about wells in rural Kent & Sussex if I’m honest.
Dam 2, Dam 3, Dam 11–Dammit, where can I see a map showing these dams and where they are other than a vague description of a dam between a state park and a place where condominiums are planned?
Is there something like that available?
There’s a map at this link:

Trump supporters are registering as Democrats so they can vote for Bernie because they think he’ll be easy for Trump to defeat.
It must be a brilliant plan if geniuses like this guy are taking part.
Hmm.

Did you notice that the first response is the same one I made to you? Accuracy matters.
I feel like the results of the IA caucus probably aren’t accurate. The presidential results in FL in 2000 definitely weren’t accurate. Trump uses very precise language to ensure accuracy though. The most important thing in politics is accuracy. I’ve always said this.
Accuracy matters
Facts matter
Democracy dies in darkness.
It’s not about politics, it’s about making statements of fact that are incorrect.
It’s not accurate. It’s just true.

That’s not an attitude befitting progressive media.
I’m not on the journalism side. I stay in my lane. Podcaster firewall. 🤓 #GonzoShit
(Great song of the day, btw)
