Pence’s Job? Silence The Scientists.  This administration is not treating this as a public health emergency. To them, it’s a messaging emergency.  Which is why these incompetents are once again going after a whistleblower who described just how unprepared the responders were.  And, yep, Trump fired the entire US pandemic response team in 2018, and never replaced them.  That news should go, pardon the expression, viral.

How For-Profit Healthcare Could Make Coronavirus Outbreak Worse.  Outrageous bills and people who can’t afford to even go to a doctor, among other disasters.

DNC Superdelegate Pushing For Brokered Convention Bamkrolls Rethugs.  Yep, a corporate lobbyist.  A coroporadem.  The corporadems face an existential threat, and will not give up their financial domination over the Democratic Party easily.

How Bloomberg Bought Himself A Third Mayoral Term.  He went around NYC’s strict two-term limit.  If you guessed that money writ large had something to do with it, you’d be correct. a real-good read from Mother Jones.

Alex Azar, Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services and Trump’s hatchet man at the CDC, is Coons’ Yale Law School & Alfalfa Club buddy.

Coons (D-Del.) issued a statement praising Trump on his pick:

“After careful consideration, I’ve decided to support President Trump’s nomination of Alex Azar to serve as our next Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). I have known Mr. Azar for several decades…

“I personally met with Mr. Azar last month and pressed him on a number of key issues that he will impact as Secretary, including the Affordable Care Act, drug pricing, and continued progress on health care system delivery reform. There is plenty that we disagree on, but I was encouraged by his answers….”

Coons was encouraged. Jan 24, 2018

Did you read to the end of the superdelegate piece?

“Owen told the Times he has been in contact with multiple campaigns. Owen floated the name of Michelle Obama as a potential running mate to bring the party together. Other superdelegates, according to the Times, are floating moderate lawmakers such as Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., or Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., as potential unity candidates to lead the ticket. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, a popular progressive lawmaker, has also been floated as a unity candidate. “

In the voice of Daffy Duck: ” Shoot me now!”, if they try a brokered convention it will destroy what little is left of party unity and guarantee four more years of Trump. It’s obvious that the party has learned nothing like usual, nobody likes super delegates who is not a party hack, and yet here they are and already conniving to have it their way. No!

The only possible unity candidate some Bernie supporters could live with would be Warren, and the corporadems fear and loathe her only about 1% less than they fear and loathe Bernie so they’d never turn to her.

The scary part about that piece isn’t that one of these DNC sleazy sellouts is being honest about his intent, it’s that there are hundreds of these assholes who used to be elected Democrats but have turned their time in office into lucrative careers sucking the corporate teat.

Republicans were willing to destroy the republic to retain power, so I’m pretty sure these Republicans-in-all-but-name would destroy the Democratic Party if they can no longer run it.
