Man, These Trump Press Conferences.  The only thing worse than a sociopathic liar is an unhinged sociopathic liar who happens to be President. Hey, at least we might be in great shape for the next outbreak of malaria. Would it shock you to know that Rudy Giuliani has been pissing in Trump’s ear about the glories of this untested-for-coronavirus drugDitto for Peter Navarro? Here’s a must-read on Trump’s obsession with this drug. If you didn’t read it yesterday, today’s assignment is to read about how Trump didn’t do a bleeping thing for 70 days despite all the warning signs of the approaching pandemic.  All of his attempts at rebranding can’t change this. A tragedy of cosmic proportions.  This is not partisan: We desperately need a different President. Right now.  He is literally killing tens of thousands of Americans.  We will all have lost someone we know by the time this is over, and many of those deaths will be due to Trump.  It’s impossible to express the anger that I feel towards this buffoon.

Everything Falls Apart, Ctd.:  The latest carnage: 337,933 confirmed cases and 9653 deaths in the United States. The fatalities are likely to double over the next week.  Not to mention, the fatalities are surely undercounted. Hospitals facing a severe shortage of equipment. The source? The government. Trump might just have to fire another IG.

Why Tomorrow’s Wisconsin Primary Must Be Held.  It’s all about reelecting a RWNJ judge to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. If people with common sense stay away, well, you can predict the result. Please note the contrast between Bernie Sanders and the namby-pamby responses of Wisconsin’s D governor and, yes, Joe Biden.  No wonder we can’t have good things.

The States That Have Done The Least To Contain The Coronavirus.  How bad are these bottom feeders?  Florida and Georgia don’t even make the cut.

What do you want to talk about?

I think our best hope is that Democrats realize Biden is only marginally more up to this task than Trump is, they cancel the rest of the primaries and the convention picks someone who’s not gasping and wheezing and praying for the finish line to hurry up and appear.

Such as? If elections are a popularity contest, we (mostly) have our answer – Biden. If we are going to continue with our anachronistic electoral college, the off-the-slate choice will have to be electable in middle america, so Warren, Buttliege, and Sanders are probably nonstarters. So who else out there that has name recognition would appeal to enough farmers and southern state conservatives to pull enough votes? Bill Gates? Robert Redford? Dwayne Johnson? No sarcasm, I’d vote for all the above in varying order of preference. But Biden is likely it and I’d love to see Bernie just get in line to make sure our circular firing squad doesn’t have time to load their rifles.

Better question – Who would make a good VP running mate?

      • Who better? Good question. But Biden essentially won the nomination with a good 2 1/2 week spurt when Bernie had emerged as his sole challenger. Since then, he’s gone into virtual hibernation. At a time like this. The mind reels.

The conventional wisdom on VP, and it makes sense, is Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan. I’m still a huge fan of Stacy Abrams, who would also be a strong contender. Each of them has their strengths. But Whitmer likely checks the box of ‘ready to take over’.

        • Alby says:

I’d take Whitmer at the top of the ticket.

I fully realize the reality of the situation. And the reality is just as we suspected — he’s a spent force, full of idiot ideas like talking to Trump, who would like nothing better than to shift the blame to any idea Biden proposes.

We have James Clyburn to thank for this. Draft him. He’s more engaged than Biden is.

I’m not anxious for Biden to go into reactive mode yapping at the Trump atrocity of the day and nipping at his heels. That would only make Biden look weaker than he already is.

  3. Wisconsin governor postpones election, likely to be overruled by Rethug Supreme Court:

This Wisconsin governor makes Chris Coons seem partisan. What a wuss.

100 ventilators to Delaware from the Pacific Northwest….I guess they think Delaware will be hard-hit.. Noticed an uptick of people on the road today…Probably some wholesale transmission going on.

    • I’m staying at home from work this week, as it’s projected to be a bad week and my job requires face-to-face interaction with the public. Didn’t even get in my car.

  5. Paul says:

The Philadelphia Eagles did not tolerate as much failure from their Eugene, OR coach as we have tolerated from this administration. Abandon our country because this buffoon won under checkered circumstances? Call for him to resign.
