Rethug Reps Call On Carney To ‘Restart Our Economy Now’

Filed in Delaware, Featured by on April 30, 2020 16 Comments

All 15 of ’em. I counted.  They sent a letter to the Governor (presumably they didn’t collaborate on the letter in person) claiming that somehow the shutdown is causing more health problems. Because, well let me quote from the letter: “The heightened anxiety created by the loss of jobs and incomes will inevitably lead to […]

Song of the Day 4/30: Tom Rush, “No Regrets”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment by on April 30, 2020 4 Comments

While the novel coronavirus has wreaked havoc on the music world, a few musicians have caught the bug and recovered. I didn’t even know folk icon Tom Rush had the disease until he announced this week that he has beaten it — no mean feat for a 79-year-old. He’s always been known as much for […]

‘I’m Not Fucking Losing To Joe Biden’.  Thus said an incredulous Trump before lambasting his campaign team for his sinking poll numbers.  The numbers have placed The Very Stable Genius in an even fouler mood than usual.  Which leads me to… “It’s Gonna Go, It’s Gonna Leave”.   Your commander-in-chief: BTW, he said that yesterday. Florida […]

All good

The economy is back. (Stocks are the economy, right?) That was all just an odd little blip. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along now.

‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: April 2020

Filed in Arts and Entertainment by on April 30, 2020 4 Comments

About as rich and diverse a month for new music that you could ever hope for.  Might as well start with music from the Album Most Likely To Top Most Critics’ Polls, at least based on the initial reviews.  Her lyrics are as good as any I’ve ever heard in rock/folk/roots/whatever music.  The music can […]

Any day now…

Any day now…

I wonder when the important working friendships with Republicans that Coons has so carefully cultivated are going to pay off? Maybe they’ll kick in if some kind of national emergency arises? Not that I’m hoping for some national emergency.

It isn’t that I don’t like Biden…

It isn’t that I don’t like Biden…

…it’s that I see him running a mincing, timid and ultimately fucked-up repeat of 2016 campaign. The idea that this is going to be a close election makes me insane with anger.

For example, if he picks Kobs* for a running mate (or some similarly terrible person) I will seriously lose. Like “somebody hide all the knives” lose it.

Song of the Day 4/29: Founders Sing, “Lie-Lie-Lie-Lie Lysol”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment, National by on April 29, 2020 2 Comments

Founders Sing entered the YouTube musical political satire genre, currently dominated by Randy Rainbow, in mid-February with a video called “The Day Democracy Died,” set to the tune of “American Pie.” Whoever’s behind it has released a video every couple of weeks since. This their latest, set to the tune of of the Kinks’ “Lola” […]

Biden’s Campaign is so weak they are terrified of Justin Amash peeling off 1% in Michigan

Biden’s Campaign is so weak they are terrified of Justin Amash peeling off 1% in Michigan

This happens when your only argument is that you are slightly less bad than the Republicans.

Team Biden has no visible affirmative campaign, so it is in panic mode over the announcement of third party candidate that will impact the terrible “50%+1” electoral college strategy.

Everything Falls Apart, Ctd.  Global. US.  US passes two deadly milestones: Over 1 million cases, and more deaths than in the entirety of the Vietnam War.  That’s more deaths than the 19-year Vietnam War, accomplished in 100 days.  Tennessee Reopens On Day Of Single Largest COVID-19 Spike.  I wonder if Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, a […]

Breaking: Nobody Cares About Baseball

Breaking: Nobody Cares About Baseball

Can you name a baseball player who is nationally famous? I can’t. There are plans to bring back baseball by realigning the leagues to make them more regional, thereby cutting down on travel. Just typing that sentence made me fall asleep. Baseball is boring. Nobody likes it.

BREAKING: Trump Channels His ‘Inner Sam Wilson’

Filed in Featured by on April 28, 2020 2 Comments

He reportedly will sign an Executive Order requiring meatpacking plants to remain open, and providing, wait for it, protection to the plants from liability.  He will not, of course, be granting immunity to those who work in the plants, their families, and all those with whom they come in contact.  They’re just collateral damage. Hey, […]
