    Is Biden still running?

    • Alby says:

      More like lounging.

      • Jason330 says:

        LOL… (sigh).

But seriously… What’s Biden’s strategy v Trump? Run out the clock? How the fuck has that been working for Dems?

        • RSE says:

Covered this in a previous comment maybe a year or so ago…It was a foolproof blueprint for a Biden victory. Will have to check the archives.

          • You called it a lot better than I did. I may just turn in my pundit badge.

It’s bizarre, really. His campaign had a good 2 1/2 weeks in the entire campaign, and he’s the nominee. I get it. The Party wasn’t gonna roll the dice with Bernie. But I still don’t understand why some of the other candidacies didn’t take off. Especially Warren and Booker.

          • RSE says:

Yes, I remember, but it could be considered election fraud if not done right… We don’t want to deceive the electorate.

            • RSE says:

Any contact between Biden and his future VP/POTUS must be done in a transparent way that shows he is not deceiving the electorate, and committing electoral fraud.

      • bamboozer says:

Or having a prolonged senior moment.

  2. Faithful Skeptic says:

Ah, so nice to see you guys linking arms and joining Bernie in helping elect the Democratic candidate. Snipe, snipe, snipe. What’s Joe’s strategy? Prolonged senior moment. That’ll build a winning coalition.

    • Alby says:

Why, are you under the impression Delaware will be in play? Or that this blog has enormous influence outside Delaware?

Or do you just not like it when people point out that Democrats suck, just less hard than Republicans? Based on your history, I think it’s the latter.

If you want cheerleading, wait for fall and go to a high school football game. They’re cuter than we are anyway.

  3. Faithful Skeptic says:

Actually, grumpy old men rule the world, so I’ll skip the cheerleaders.

But can you just put a sock on the bitchiness, the snide hostility, the eternal negativity about everything?

Push for good things to happen (like the GA passing the vote by mail initiative).

    • Alby says:

“But can you just put a sock on the bitchiness, the snide hostility, the eternal negativity about everything?”

No. If that’s what you want, you should start your own blog, because you won’t find that here. Field’s wide open, son. Go for it.

    • Alby says:

Also, the vote-by-mail thing in Delaware is pretty low on my priority list. It would be nice if this blue-but-illiberal state would loosen voting restrictions — our rules for absentee ballots are more in line with the South than actual blue states — but I can think of lots of other issues on which I’d like to see liberals make their presence felt.

I’m fine with Joe playing it safe at this time. It’s a truism in politics that people don’t start paying attention until after Labor Day. That may be less so now, but I think it still holds. I’m not interested in seeing Biden following the daily news cycle and hyperactively reacting and sniping atTrump. Hyperactive is not a good look on Biden and only increases the likelihood of a major gaffe. What I hope he’s doing now (and I’m not at all confident he is) is gathering a good team and developing more cogent plans to run on. Hell, whatever plans he might announce now will probably be overtaken by events in the next few months.

  5. Delguy says:

Progressives vs Moderates and Moderates won again. It’s time to realize half this party is not progressive. We are a coalition like in some European countries more then a party.

    • bamboozer says:

Agreed, we are indeed a coalition where as the Republicans all march in lock step. But I must admit I’m long tired of “moderates” as the reality is they are conservatives in thin disguise. Biden comes to mind and his famed “Nothing will change” statement, it’s a message to big business that the rackets and games will be allowed to continue.
