6.6 Million More Americans File For Unemployment.  Unemployment worst since the Great Depression, around 12-13%, with the real total likely much higher.

It Came From Europe.  Turns out it’s not really the ‘Chinese’ Virus after all.

Everything Falls Apart, Ctd.:  Global UpdateUS Update. 432,438 cases and 14,808 confirmed deaths in the United States.

Trump Cuts Funds For On-Site Testing.  The truth is obvious: Trump does not want a testing program b/c it will drive home the ineptitude of the response and it will understate the spread of the infections. As opposed to, say, using the information to protect the American people.

Senators Demand That Trump Explain Firing Of Intelligence IG.  The law requires an explanation from the President. Even a few Rethugs are on board.

Rethug Governors Ignored Pleas Of Southern Mayors.  They have foiled the implementation of  common-sense protections at every turn.  The worst of this rogue’s gallery is arguably Ark. Governor Asa Hutchinson, who has prevented local governments from imposing strict requirements

More Ventilator Purchase Follies.  Company failed to deliver on government ventilator contract, now charging four times as much.  I blame Obama.

Wealthy Would Benefit From This SBA Scam.  Is anyone surprised by this?  Dare I say it, a must-read.

McConnell Floats Small Business Bill That Has No Chance Of Passing.  Politics uber alles.

Delaware COVID-19 Cases Now Over 1100.  I see no need for any of us to place ourselves at unnecessary risk.  I can’t overstate my appreciation for those who place themselves at risk to serve the public good.

Whatever messaging the state did to keep people home this weekend must have fallen on deaf ears or people just didn’t get the message. Lots of out of state plates and people are running around down here at the beach like its just another holiday weekend coming up… Whatever happened to the police stopping out of state cars to make sure they are abiding by the order from the governor?

  2. Arthur says:

People are everywhere. no one is paying attention to anything. We will never get past this because the american society is one of selfishness and self centeredness. from what i’ve seen its mostly those younger than 30

  3. Sussex Worker says:

The state police have had checkpoints on Rte 1, in the Lewes-Rehoboth area, at least twice, and on Rte 24 at least once. The traffic is much lighter than usual. Not every out of state tag belongs to a tourist trying to spend money.

RSA and Arthur must be “born here”s or live west of Rte 30

I’m a landscaper in the Lewes area and I just came back from the Town of Lewes a couple hours ago and I can tell you definitively that the roads almost look like a normal day before the Easter holiday, relatively speaking. Grocery store parking lots are full, people are lined up at the car wash. Out of state people in the development where I have been for the last couple days are definitely not abiding by the two week quarantine…I almost called some people out for it , but it’s not my place to say anything like that if I want to keep working there.

I’m in north Wilmington and they are everywhere. High school fields, the soccer fields in the valley, etc.
