Lieutenant General Darryl A. Williams is no leader

Filed in National by on April 27, 2020

Darryl A. Williams is the 60th superintendent of West Point. When Trump’s vanity caused him to announce that he was delivering a graduation address to the cadets, causing the academy to scramble together a ceremony that is going to put a lot of people in harms way, Williams should have said, “No.”

I know Trump is his boss, but he and Republicans should say no to Trump and get fired. Williams would have if he was a leader, which he isn’t. He’s just another Trump stooge.

    Word.

It’s not just losing his job. It’s a potential Court Martial. Disobeying civilian authority isn’t something to encourage in the uniformed services.

At least all the cadets will be tested. Statistically, 5-15% will test positive and won’t be allowed to attend. Assume at least one false negative. Good chance someone gets infected. Fails to listen to his bud BoJo, shakes hands. You know the rest.

    One can dream.

Here’s a bit more on the logistics of the West Point graduation from the Army Times:

The Army Times, BTW, while staffed with many veterans, is not part of the U.S. military. It’s owned by a media company that was once part of Gannett. While certainly sympathetic to the military viewpoint, it’s not a house organ of the Army.
