American Military & Defense Leaders Abandon Trump.  Gen. MattisAdmiral Mullen. James MillerDefense Secretary Esper.  Even the compromised current Joint Chiefs Chair, Gen. Mark Milley, tried to walk back his disastrous participation in Trump’s photo-op:

Senior Pentagon leaders are now so concerned about losing public support — and that of their active-duty and reserve personnel, 40 percent of whom are people of color — that Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, released a message to top military commanders on Wednesday affirming that every member of the armed forces swears an oath to defend the Constitution, which he said “gives Americans the right to freedom of speech and peaceful assembly.”

I am encouraged.  I believe this is an important turning point.

Maybe they’re “on vacation” in DC. How do we know they’re not Russians? (we don’t). Or RWNJ mercenaries working for Erik Prince. Somebody needs to follow one of them home and dox him.

    • The rumor is that a bunch of them are from the Federal Bureau Of Prisons. You know, because they’re experienced at putting down riots.

Here in AZ we’ve had back to back days of 1000+ new positive cases (total of around 23,000) we may hit 1000 total deaths today (won’t come out for about 2 hours). This after a couple of weeks of 400+ new positive cases daily. Guess we opened too soon.

Credit where it’s due: We’re not talking about Trump’s coronavirus fuck-ups today, are we? Winning!

  4. Sen. Lisa Murkowski endorses Mattis’ criticism of Trump:

“Senator Lisa Murkowski, Republican of Alaska, said she endorsed scathing criticism of President Trump’s leadership by James Mattis, the former secretary of defense. “I thought General Mattis’s words were true and honest and necessary and overdue,” she said.

  5. Ben says:

Overdue…. because Sen Murkowski is famously mute, unable to write, and cannot form thoughts of her own. another spinless repuke. Her half hearted fence riding is bullshit.

All Republican Trump critics will have been overdue. It would still be nuts not to make use of it. You gonna also dismiss the current attacks on Trump by the generals because they didn’t do it in 2016? These are major statements they’re making. Sometimes resistance takes a little time to work, but builds to a watershed moment. So let’s hope. And these guys might be laying the ground for using the military against Trump if he refuses to leave office.
