Corinna Getchell, who has been director of the Office of Health Facilities Licensing and Certification in the Division of Health Care Quality, will be appointed division head. Director Yrene Waldron is returning to retirement to spend time with her family.
It remains to be seen how effective Getchell will be. After all, she was in charge of inspections of the facilities, which yielded little in terms of sanctions. But, as former Phils’ manager Gene Mauch once said, “Sometimes you add by subtracting.”
I rarely do this, but I’m gonna give myself a little pat on the back for hastening the fox’s departure from the henhouse.
