Kenny Family Moves to Purchase the DEGOP Outright

Filed in National by on September 29, 2020

A few of things:

1) Great in depth reporting by DelawareCall

2) Buy low, sell high, right? I guess the DEGOP is the very picture of a fully depreciated asset right now.

3) Smart move by Chris Kenny to wait out this cycle in which all Republicans outside of East Bumfuck are going to lose.

4) Nothing says “Me dressing up like rich person!” as well as a top hat.

Me dressing up like a rich person.

They can raise all the money in the world and it won’t buy enough votes to win, because the GOPs only voter strength is among the slack-jawed of SuxCo.

It does, however, give us the opportunity to boycott his grocery stores. The best way to hurt these people is to stop giving them your money.

They put the “right” in ShopRite.

I gotta say, I love Jesse Chadderdon. This guy gets it.

“Wealthy donors are going to dump millions of dollars into Republican campaigns and then hold them hostage when it comes to tax austerity and all sorts of other policies that are bad for Delaware,” says Chadderdon. “These people want to lower wages and hold working families down. They’re terrified of the idea that we want to expand family leave. They’re terrified that we might at some point talk about revenue raisers for investing in public education. These guys want to protect their wealth at all costs, and they’re going to spend millions to protect their billions.”

On the positive side Marie Pinkney was out spent 7 to 1 and her message prevailed! There are other great examples
But Kenny is far more dangerous than just $$$$$! The family Charity which will happily take a buck or 2 every time you check out is a Trojan Horse for his political ambitions. They have burrowed their way into some legitimate good causes like prisoner’s rights and substance abuse non profits. They are also in the low income feeding contract business, competing with other non profits for summer feeding programs, charter schools, group home and day program lunches. They win a lot of bids by using their “unique” advantages. Their public facing staff are decent folks doing good work but their fundraising activities belie their benign face. The Golf tournament is a list building exercise. Kenny is in the LONG game! He is building a political organization and this move suggests that the “Coming out Party” is nigh!

  4. All Seeing says:

Alby must mean the “Knuckle Draggers of Sussex County” don’t he?

  5. Kennedy says:

It’s unbelievable that DE’s GOP’s political and campaign strategy never evolves, especially after Ken Simpler’s fall from grace.
Anyways, who owns Sprouts? I’ll vote for them for some vegan cupcakes.

  6. Is this the last desperate attempt to rescue the GOP from Lower Slower, and to restore the luster to the Vicmead Hunt Club?

    • Alby says:

      I’d say so.

The GOP’s problem has long been that the money comes from the north while the votes come from the south. If Kenney’s money can erase the racist taint that motivates those voters, I wish him well, even if I think his cause is doomed.

  7. Flash D. Cat says:

Alby is partially right, but forgot to mention the GOP voter strength in swathes of Kent County’s slack jawed morons.

    • Alby says:

You’re right, I overlooked Kent. The Republicans there are similar to those further south, but the county is both smaller and more closely divided. Except on NASCAR weekends, of course.
