Protesters Target Home of National Embarrassment Chris Coons

Filed in Coons, Delaware, International by on May 3, 2021

Delawareans elect a lot of corporate tools who pretend to be Democrats, but of all the corporate tools, Sen. Chris Coons has become the corporate tooliest. In today’s more progressive Democratic Party, he stands out as a national embarrassment.

See if you can follow this pathetic excuse for logic Coons trotted out in a speech last week Center for Strategic and International Studies. He was “explaining” why he is against waiving patent rights on Covid vaccines to benefit the Third World:

“January 6th was a moment that was challenging, divisive, difficult for all of us here in Congress, and it was a wake-up call that our country is badly divided. All of this is a wake-up call for us that we need to have another Sputnik-like moment of reinvestment in American innovation and competitiveness. A central part of being successful in this competition is continuing with our constitutionally created protected-property right of a patent, something I’ve long believed in.”

What the actual fuck? The GOP you claim is full of very fine people tries to overthrow the government, and to you it’s a sign we have to protect patent rights no matter how many people die in poor nations? I knew you were a sniveling coward — you proved that back in the Gordon years, when instead of standing up to what you knew was wrong you hid under the bed like a frightened child — but I didn’t realize your fealty to your corporate paymasters would so easily overcome your oft-stated but seldom-demonstrated ethics.

Clearly I’m not the only one who feels this way. A group of protesters under the banner Justice Is Global showed up at his house yesterday and staged a die-in. If they really want to scare him into action, I suggest that in the future they all show up in Tom Gordon masks.

    Jesus.
    Fucking.
    Christ.

Using the Jan 6th insurrection to call for “unity” around the idea that big Pharma profits should be sacrosanct. That must be the most coonsian coonsplaining in human history.

“Who can forget the unimaginable horror that struck America when four commercial flights were hijacked by terrorists and crashed into sites including New York City’s Twin Towers on morning of Tuesday, September 11?

Those attacks serve as a stark reminder that we must unify in bipartisanship to ensure that a $15 minimum wage bill does not pass.”

Probably go again Sunday. Maybe every Sunday. Who’s to say?

That may explain the cryptic TV ads I’ve been seeing by the otherwise Dem-supportive dark-money PAC Future Majority that say something like “Call Coons and Carper and tell them to oppose policies that harm American workers.” I couldn’t figure out what they wanted me to call about. I bet it’s some tortuous logic about intellectual property, with pharma money behind it.

Not that Coons needs a phone call from ordinary voters to coddle the pharma lobby. Look some pharma provisions to be cut out of the bills with Coons’s and Carper’s fingerprints on the scissors.

I’m not holding my breath, but maybe now the media will stop believing Coons’ claim that he and Biden are “very close.”

Biden might use Coons when it’s convenient, but he’s never been close to him, no matter what either of them tell reporters. Biden made a point of insulting Coons in public some years back over Coons’ opposition to Biden buddy Tom Gordon, and I guarantee you Biden’s not so senile he’s forgotten.

And, as this issue shows, Coons does not support the Biden administration’s agenda.

Put another way as a guy who has known Joe for 49 years. He knows a phoney when he sees one:)!

        • Dem Moderate says:

Biden is more or less a puppet.

          • Jason330 says:

very weak shade, matches the handle tho.

          • Alby says:

So some internet rando not even clever enough to think up a screen name is going to tell a bunch of people who actually know Joe Biden all about Joe Biden. Sorry, Charlie, that turd won’t flush.

BTW, I’m worth more than you will ever see in your sorry life. Suck on it.

FYI WPD kept protestors off Coons sidewalk claiming that they are his property. New Castle County Parcel Search contradicts that and show sidewalk to be PUBLIC!!!!

Sen. Chris Coons’s Defense of Vaccine Apartheid Is Obscene

Many political and business leaders are defending unethical vaccine patent hoarding. But Sen. Chris Coons recently achieved new levels of repulsiveness, invoking Red Scare rhetoric, the Capitol riot, and the Constitution to justify protecting Big Pharma’s profits.
