Song of the Day 7/31: Lindsey Buckingham, “I Don’t Mind”

Filed in National by on July 31, 2021 0 Comments

You can throw him out of the band he made successful, you can put him through emergency open-heart surgery, you can cancel his tour because COVID, but you can’t stop Lindsey Buckingham from writing, playing and recording hook-laden soft-rock tunes. “I Don’t Mind” is the lead single from his upcoming eponymous solo LP, and like […]

Trump Pushed DOJ To Overthrow Election.  Treason. Sedition.  You name it.  He broke the law, and threatened the future of the country. “Just say that the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the R congressmen”.  Betcha some of those R congressmen were on McCarthy’s list of nominees for the Jan. 6 […]

Song of the Day 7/30: Kansas, “Dust in the Wind”

Robby Steinhardt, second vocalist and violinist for the band Kansas, died last week of pancreatitis, aged 71. He wasn’t the group’s leader, but his violin was the most distinctive element of their prog-rock sound, and his wild mane was its most arresting visual feature. He also served as front man during their concerts, making the […]

Voter Suppression Continues Apace.  In Georgia, they’re trying to take over the Fulton County Board Of Elections.  In Pa., they’re engaged in voter intimidation. In Arizona, here’s who’s funding the so-called ‘audit. (Michael Flynn belongs in jail.) In DC, preservation of the time-dishonored filibuster Trumps all. Jim Jordan Is A ‘Fucking…Son Of A Bitch’. Texas blues-rockers ZZ Top are undergoing their first personnel change in 51 years today because bassist and second lead vocalist Dusty Hill died in his sleep Tuesday. I heard this story on WDEL the other day and almost drove off the road — a puff piece about yet another state fund to funnel money to corporations. The story actually praises Middletown’s Ken Branner for tossing zoning and planning out the window to attract business, and its whole tone proves is that the […]

Song of the Day 7/28: Allman Brothers Band, “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More”

It’s a good time to eat a peach — it’s the height of a better-than-average peach season. It’s also a good time to play “Eat a Peach,” the soundtrack of many a lazy Rehoboth Beach day back in the ’70s. The band, still basking in the success of “Live at Fillmore East,” was in the […]

Will there come a point when the media’s bothersiderism breaks down under its own absurd weight? I thought that the 1/6 insurrection riots, for example, might allow the media to get out from under the “he said, she said” reporting that always gives Republican claims equal legitimacy when paired up th truth. Well, nope.  Nothing […]

Aged-out frat boy Matt Gaetz thinks he’s somehow going to survive his scandalous behavior with underage females, even in the face of stories like this one, in which the sister of his fiancee calls Gaetz a “literal pedophile” (she later corrected that to “ephebophile,” the term for someone attracted to post-pubescent teens). Where could Gaetz […]

LMAO! Coons, you scamp!

Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), a close ally of President Biden, said Friday he would support a bipartisan infrastructure package even if negotiators drop a proposal to significantly increase funding for public transit, a top Democratic priority. Hilarious. Top Democratic priorities are really just a bunch of nonsense anyway. AMIRIGHT?

We’ve been entirely too soft on Vaccine resisters

CNN)Justice Department lawyers have determined that federal law doesn’t prohibit public agencies and private businesses from requiring Covid-19 vaccines — even if the vaccines have only emergency use authorization, according to an opinion posted online Monday.

The opinion from the department’s Office of Legal Counsel paves the way for more federal agencies and businesses to require vaccinations.

Just when it seemed like some sanity was creeping in…

Sean Hannity assures audience he’s “not urging people to get the COVID-19 vaccine”

Sean Hannity issues stern rebuke to those calling him “pro-vaccine”: “Why are they saying something I didn’t say?”
