‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: June 2021

Filed in Arts and Entertainment, Featured by on July 1, 2021

Yet another diverse set of divertissements, featuring a couple of songs I’d missed from earlier this year. Enjoy!

If you’re gonna cover a Leonard Cohen song, might as well make it your own.  Like this:

Memo To Self: This is the second song I’ve posted from this album. Plus one from Jenn Wasner, who sings here.  They’re from bleeping Baltimore. Book this band at the Gild Hall. Or, at least try.

As a fan of classic sweet soul, I like everything about the Bruno Mars/Anderson .Pack song. Bruno looks retro-cool, especially with his Sammy Davis chin. I think the Will Stratton and Brittney Spencer songs are very pleasant in a kind of throw-back way. The Covey song kicks ass. It’s always good to hear Wye Oak and Arden adopted daughter Amy Helm. I like the Hiatus Kaiyote song OK, but she need to lose that thing hanging from her upper lip. Basically, I like pretty much everything on your list. Thanks for posting.

    • You can enjoy the Hiatus Kaiyote song on Spotify w/o seeing that thing dangling from her lip. I definitely enjoyed it more on Spotify.

I really liked that song from Will Stratton as well. He’s from Duchess County, NY, but he rarely tours. Maybe I can get him to take a day trip to the Arden Gild Hall…

    Which reminds me: TEASER ALERT!

Sometime around mid-week, I’ll be announcing another incredible show at the Hall. Ron Ozer and I will co-produce this one. I didn’t realize it, but Ron told me that I first reached out about this artist back in 2017, and now it’s a DONE DEAL!

    I’m psyched.
