My musical dance card is officially full–at least through February.  I’m really psyched about these shows that I’m bringing to the Gild Hall this year:

An Evening With Sierra Hull.  Friday, October 22. I’m co-producing this one with our Gildmaster Ron Ozer.  She was a true child prodigy (not Ron), making her Grand Ol’ Opry debut at the age of 10, and performing at Carnegie Hall when she was 12.  She is a three-time IBMA winner as Mandolin Player Of The Year, and is a compelling performer and songwriter who has pushed the boundaries of bluegrass into uncharted territory.  A taste (she’s bringing a full band to the Hall):

 

The Claudettes (Featuring Johnny Iguana). Saturday, October 30.  They put out an absolute killer album in 2020 and…couldn’t tour.  Think these guys would be any good live?:

Oh, and bandleader Johnny Iguana (who will open)?  He’s Chicago’s most in-demand blues piano player, has toured with Junior Wells, not to mention, he’s originally from the Philly area.  And, he’s amazing:

Twisted Pine. Saturday, December 4.  A return visit from a band that blew everybody’s minds a few years back.  This time, with a badass flute player in tow, and, stop me if you’ve heard this, a killer 2020 album that they couldn’t tour behind.  A runaway freight train of musical talent at low volume, Twisted Pine combines elements of bluegrass, jazz, fiddle tunes, funk, and so much more into their own tuneful alchemy:

Finally, and hopefully for the last time, the thrice-postponed show from one of the great blues-rock guitar slingers anywhere. A multiple award-winner, also a great singer and songwriter:

We’ve got an incredible lineup of shows this season.  Check ’em out here.  Some, like Yo La Tengo, Iris Dement and Adrianne Lenker, have already sold out.

We’ve established the following protocols for our shows:  All people in the Hall must have proof that they’ve been fully-vaccinated at least two weeks before the date of the show.  Attendees must wear masks except when they are actively drinking (which raises the questions, what if they’re ‘passively’ drinking, or even ‘impassively’ drinking?)  But, I digress.

We have state-of-the art sound and lighting, we only seat up to 300 people, and we’ve become an in-demand first-choice venue for many great artists.  If you’re coming to one of my shows (and you’re not related to me), let me know and the first ‘active drink’ is on me.
