The strangest thing about this epoch of American history will always be that tens of millions of grown ups decided to form a cult like devotion to, of all available people, Donald Trump.
The response from a Trumper is genuinely helpful:
It really isn’t about Trump. It could be any republican who had a backbone who would simply stand up against you libs. He’s doing it. He not perfect, but he’s a fighter…and we loved fighters.
In short, we’d have formed a cult around any crazy-ass dumbfuck who nursed our petty grievances and validated our racial hatreds.
Yep! “Trumpism is based on an assortment of hatreds, hatreds that are older then the nation itself. As a poly sci guy it’s easy to see that historians will be writing about the mass stupidity that elected Trump for 100 years.
There are two main groups of people — those who think we’re all equal, and those who think, despite all evidence to the contrary, that they’re superior.
We fought those people 160 years ago and then, because we’re not the rage-filled vengeance machines they are, we failed to jail and execute the treasonous survivors.
Will we learn from history?
Seeing as the civil war never really ended I would suggest no, we will not learn from history as many are determined not to learn to rejoice in ignorance.
It seems that no historical event ever truly ends as the consequences of all actions seem to reverberate eternally.

Being a conservative, you misunderstand what a cult is. Hating evil does not make a person a cult member. They would have to have some figure who they follow to that conclusion.
Whom do you imagine fills this role for liberals? I can assure you that for most of us, nobody does. Check the archives of this site if you’re under the idea that we’re big fans of Joe Biden. Unlike you trogs, we can criticize our so-called leaders.

Thought for a brief moment you were a logical and rational human being. I was wrong. In your case, I’m sure it’s always the other guys who are dumb, criminals, bad drivers, whatever it is.
