My God! That’s brilliant. I made it to ‘The Machine’, then realized I now know enough to realize that I never want any part of this.
It reinforces something I learned while working in the General Assembly, and especially applies to the insurance industry: When someone presents something in an inscrutable manner, it is designed to make you think that ONLY THOSE presenting it are smart enough to understand it. Which is why they make it so obtuse as to sometimes embarrass you into silence.
To which Steve Amick, one of my favorite legislators, often responded:
“There is no such thing as a stupid question.”
