Last Week’s Poll Results and this Week’s Poll

Q: What office should Eugene Young run for?

A: Governor of Delaware (53%)

Vox populi, the people have spoken.

There is one other open seat statewide and it isn’t getting too much attention.  That office is Lt Governor.

So…Who would you like to see doing this…

The lieutenant governor serves as the President of the Delaware State Senate and may cast tie-breaking votes. The lieutenant governor also has a constitutionally provided seat on the Delaware Board of Pardons.[2]

The governor may assign the lieutenant governor additional responsibilities.

  1. No preference. But Harrington recently filed her campaign committee for Lt. Gov.

And Sherry Dorsey Walker is promising some sort of announcement on the 19th. I predict she’ll still be running for lt. gov. when she’s Carper’s age.

      • Joe Connor

it will be Happy Juneteenth from your presumptive Lt Guv:)

Board of pardons? I need a hook-up there!

It is a bit of a dumb job, but since 1981, three of the last 6 Lt Gov’s went on to be Gov. Castle, Minner, Carney. I’m not counting Wolf’s 20 day term of office.

BHL will try to make that 4 of the last 7.

    • Well, not quite. Carney lost when he made his first run for Governor while he was Lt. Governor. Not sure that counts…

Best we can say about the 2008 Dem gubernatorial primary is that Markell delayed activation of the Peter Principle.

  4. Ready4Tabatha

We’ve tried adding Tabatha’s name, but every time our people go to vote in the poll, they don’t see it and end up having to add her name themselves.

      • mediawatch

        By now, Tabatha should know.
Write-in is the only way to go.

  5. The MoMo

Colleen Davis is reportedly running. Carney underlings have been fundraising for her all year. Couldn’t add it to the poll

    • Anyone Carney’s for, I’m against. Maybe Colleen loves her some budget-smoothing.
