GOP Convention Coverage Report Card
Drew Volturo: Delaware State News – Grade B
Voltura attended the event and spoke to a few people, which you can’t say about the other two. His lead is kind of sloppy in that it sets the readers up for a “reversal of fortune” type story that does not exist, nevertheless it is workmanlike and competent overall.
The Wilmington News Journal – Grade C
The News Journal didn’t cover the convention. I guess nobody checked the calendar. Anyway, the lack of coverage probably helped their grade.
Poltical blogger, Celia Cohen – Grade A++
Although reading Celia Cohen’s “coverage” you get the impression that she wrote her column three days prior to the event, she still knocked it out of the park by capturing the very essence of today’s DEGOP. She spoke to “Michael N. Castle” and quotes Congressman Useless on the GOP’s great white hope for Governor – Alan Levin. Castle’s take on Levin: Republicans will like Levin because he’ll be popular among Democrats. And there you have the Delaware Republicans in a nutshell.
Grade C from TNJ? You can’t be serious! It was less than a paragraph, and contained no details whatsoever, only who was elected to what.
That being said, why a C? I would expect either an F for no content, or A++ (only from you) simply for leaving the Republicans out (one of the goals of the liberal media). A “C” is throwing TNJ a bone they don’t deserve!
Grade inflation.
We grade on a curve here.
