Coons sure is a cagey guy. He only hangs around with the classiest Russian spies.

Maria Butina, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy and acting as a foreign agent in the US, tended to brag about her ties to Russian intelligence when she was intoxicated, according to people familiar with the situation. CNN’s Sara Murray reports.

Coons has still not disavowed his connection with the National Spy Breakfast.

    It is polly-anna-ish of me, but I think Coons could still slavage his reputation. And moreover, I think he might actually try to do it after the midterms. He appears to have no core beliefs, so if he sees the wind blowing toward a more progressive Democratic Party, he is souless and ambition-filled enought to say – what the fuck, I’ve been a progressive all along.

    Jason–Awesome follow up piece.

    The other Russian spy you failed to mention that was at the event was a guy who goes by “Donald Trump”. There is even a photo of him with Chris at the event. Other code names are: The Donald, Trump, Covfefe, and I.P. Freely.
