Joe Biden’s handlers don’t fill me with confidence, but they’ve apparently hit upon the bright idea of having him act presidential by throwing a little red meat to Democrats. After years of resisting the obvious, he’s decided to back Supreme Court reform and will announce it with lots of fanfare. GOP apoplexy to follow.

The notion that organized labor is progressive rather than self-interested took a giant hit when Teamsters president Sean O’Brien spoke at the RNC convention and praised Trump.

Country singer Ingrid Andress had an excuse for mangling the nation anthem before the Home Run duerby: She was drunk, she says, and is entering rehab. Which means that Fergie still holds the record for worst sober rendition.

The floor’s yours.

  1. I feel bad for her. The first thing I thought when I clicked on the video was that she looked bedraggled.

    Hope everybody lays off her.

From the linked article: “Biden is also weighing whether to call for a constitutional amendment to eliminate broad presidential immunity”

Should have happened before the mid-terms.

I had always thought Democrats should introduce and run on an amendment to bar a President from pardoning themselves. Still a good idea as a messaging and GOTV bill, even though the Supreme Court will just quash any charges against a (Republican) president anyway.

Presidential immunity is a sticky wicket though; you have to get the wording of the amendment right, or the messaging will backfire, and anyway the Supreme Court will just interpret the f*ck out of it. And I’m not sure we don’t want to retain some limited immunity.

RNC finds more convicted felons to celebrate.

Maybe a nice ambassadorship for them? After the Supreme Court somehow voids the state charges, of course.

Bethany Hall Long gets the Behavioral Health Consortium to authorize $2 million more in opioid grant funding, despite AG Jennings’ call to freeze funding due to concerns about fraud, waste, and abuse.

Disgusting. Not surprising. Jennings is the only person Bethany didn’t personally pick. A bunch of yes people. Hansen primary among them. Someone who knows very well how political corruption and money changing hands works. She and her ex husband were expert at that.

I hope the rumors are true.

      • Hansen won the open seat when BHL was elected LG. She was chosen by the Party for the Special Election, meaning BHL in effect chose her as her successor.

        Connect the dots.
