Daily Approval Rating — Results for Senator Tom Carper and Poll for Senator Chris Coons
In the poll on your right, state whether your strongly approve, approve, disapprove or strongly disapprove of the job performance of Lt. Governor Matt Denn. There is also an option for Neutral or Meh, which is also kinda like “Don’t care” or “Don’t know.” I am sure why you are voting in a poll if you have no opinion or knowledge of the subject matter of the poll, but sometimes people just want to express a resounding shrug of the shoulders as an opinion.
This poll is of course an internet poll, and thus it is purely voluntary, non-random, and non-scientific. At best, the results can only be described as a poll of the readership of Delaware Liberal. The results will be posted tomorrow at this time.
Here are the results for Senator Carper:
Do you approve or disapprove of the job performance of U.S. Senator Tom Carper?
Disapprove — 67%
Approve — 26%
Meh — 7%
Our Delaware Democrats in Congress need to wake up and realize it is no longer 1995. Or 2005. Democrats without any spine, courage or principle are not in fashion. And it doesn’t win you elections. Senator Tom Carper prevented the Senate from taking up the minimum wage bill this month, adding to the long list of deeds where he has thwarted the Democratic majority or undermined a Democratic President. He should be condemned. The Carper contagion is not contained to one man, either. The supposed scholar Chris Coons has been infected. His two sins this week are legion and will be the subject of another post today.
Here is a schedule for the polls we will be conducting this week and next (with links to past poll results):
Tuesday, 2/25 – Governor Jack Markell
Wednesday, 2/26 – Lt. Governor Matt Denn
Thursday, 2/27 – Treasurer Chip Flowers
Friday, 2/28 – Attorney General Beau Biden
Monday, 3/3 – Insurance Commissioner Karen Weldin Stewart
Tuesday, 3/4 – Auditor Tom Wagner
Wednesday, 3/5 – Senator Tom Carper
Thursday, 3/6 – Senator Chris Coons
Friday, 3/7 – Congressman John Carney
Monday, 3/10 – Speaker Peter Schwartzkopf
Tuesday, 3/11 – Senate President Pro Tem Patricia Blevins
I wonder if Coons would have turned out any different if he had to run to the left against Mike Castle. I guess it was a few years too soon to run to the left. But running against Christine O’Donnell seems to have changed him. Remember when he flip-flopped on the Bush tax cuts two weeks before the election? It’s been downhill ever since. It’s as though someone put a spell on him.
