I hope you check this stuff out as there’s so much great music that gets lost in the shuffle, but shouldn’t. Music lovers, here we go!:
Sharon Von Etten: Your Love Is Killing Me
Sturgill Simpson: Turtles All the Way Down: Country Meets Psychedelia, seriously! It’s a good trip, take it to the end.
Dave & Phil Alvin: Key to the Highway: Phil and the Blasters in Arden, Thurs., Sept 11!!
Back next month!

All right ‘Bulo, buying the Sturgill Simpson CD. The idea of country and psychedelic is far too interesting to pass up.
I like the way it starts as a straight country song, then morphs into something else.
Simpson is in no way your stereotypical country guy. More like a cosmological cowboy. Here’s a cool interview with NPR:

Interesting, the best part of music seems to be blending styles at this point and the best part for me is Alternative Country, all 5,000 variations and counting.
