He is so batshit crazy and dumb, he does not think through his protest to realize it might be hazardous. He is so mindbogglingly incompetent that he cannot carry out said protest without burning down the town. And then he runs away like the little coward that he is, evidencing how much he and all bigoted conservatives really disdain personal responsibility and accountability.

The consensus seems to be that Mitt Romney is nearing a decision on his running mate and is just waiting until the damn Olympics are over with to announce it. It also seems that the consensus choices for the second slot are as follows, as they have have been left out as convention speakers so far:

Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin are both big names in the party believed to be among those Romney is weighing for the vice presidential slot or for the keynote address. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire and Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio also were noticeably absent from the slate of announced speakers and may be contenders for running mate.

My money is on Paul Ryan. Take the poll in the middle column.

“This isn’t about mutual tolerance because there’s nothing mutual about it. If we agree to disagree on this issue, you walk away a full member of this society and I don’t. There is no “live and let live” on this issue because [Chick-Fil-A CEO] Dan Cathy is spending millions to very specifically NOT let me live. I’m not trying to do that to him.

Asking for “mutual tolerance” on this like running up to a bully beating a kid to death on the playground and scolding them both for not getting along. I’m not trying to dissolve Mr. Cathy’s marriage or make his sex illegal. I’m not trying to make him a second-class citizen, or get him killed. He’s doing that to me, folks; I’m just fighting back.”

The Polling Report [8.3.12]

The big news over the last couple of days since our last polling report was the Pew poll showing a 10 point lead for Obama. Pew is a respected pollster, but this poll is probably an outlier, only because it feels like a 5-6 point race to me, with Obama in the lead. If Obama does win by 10 points, then he is heading for a massive 1984-1972-1964 landslide where he wins 40 states and the Dems retake the House by 30 seats.
