Castle Votes Against Jobs… AGAIN.

Our inteprid supposedly bipartisan independently independent "Best from Delaware" Congressman, Mike "Party of No" Castle, has voted against creating jobs once again, this afternoon. The first time was back in…

Rasmussen Polls Delaware

Take it with a boulder of salt, but according to the poll, President Obama has a 51% approval rating, versus a 48% disapproval rating; Governor Markell has a 61% approval rating, versus a 37% disapproval rating; and Castle leads Coons 53% to 32%. 8% prefer some other candidate (O'Donnell?? Anti-Coons or Pro-Biden sentiment?) and 8% are unsure.

The Slavery Apology

What happened before does have an affect on what is now. We fought a civil war to end slavery and hundreds of thousands died in that effort. The civil rights movement 100 years later ended overt state discrimination. And 60 years later we have elected ourselves our first black President. That is progress. And I tend to think righting the wrong is an inherent apology in and of itself. Further, I am a progressive, so I tend to look forward in working to make the country better, rather than backward to what we were before.

That’s Our Castle

Castle flip flops on the jobs bill, again, and now he has come out against the filibuster in the Senate. If Mike Castle were a real leader following his principles, he would immediately call on his supposedly future Senate Republican brethren to end their unprecedented obstructionism. I say, if he were a real leader with principles....

Heart Broken

Dick Cheney is in the hospital for chest pains. He has had four to five heart attacks over the last 30 years, and God knows how many bypass surgeries and angioplasties. The real mystery in all of this is how they can do all this surgery on an organ he doesn't have.

Scott Spencer Deserves Better

Kavips lauds Scott Spencer's accomplishments and ideas, but is concerned that there is a better place for him in the party, politics, and in government than likely losing to John Carney. While Kavips is well intentioned, it is the losing to Carney that will air Scott's good ideas to the public, and his future in politics can wait until after the primary.

Reid Grows a Set?

Reid found some courage today in scrapping a jobs bill that had nothing but giveaways to the GOP in it. Now he needs to use that new found courage to pass a real jobs bill through reconciliation without any GOP support. Do it, Harry. Do it now.

Socialism in Sussex

Sussex shows a budget surplus, but asks for volunteers to plow the roads without compensation. I think we just saw a form of socialism play out in the heart of Sussex County.

Irony in our Disappointment

Congress is broken, brought down not only by lobbyist and corporate influence but also by the obstruction of the Party of No. The supreme irony of our times is that only George W. Bush seems to be the savior, in that perhaps his abuse of power during his terms in office are the only way to fix Washington.
